Eminem Unveils Release Date for New Album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) with Horror-Inspired Trailer

Eminem gives fans a better look at his next era.

On Tuesday, July 2, the “Lose Yourself” rapper, 51, shared a new trailer on social media ahead of the release of his new album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) on Friday, July 12.

In the visual, which takes place at Pompsomp Hills Hospital, a woman is seen in the delivery room giving birth. When she is born, the baby doesn’t seem to be breathing, so the doctor slaps them repeatedly. When he hands them a baby, their eyes darken and their horns grow.

A panicked new mother and hospital staff flee as the clip cuts to the title track of Eminem’s new album and a snippet of his recent single “Houdini.”

The “Crack a Bottle” singer also released the album’s next single, “Tobey” featuring Big Sean and Babytron, on July 2 — sharing the song along with a cover that references Spider man.

On Friday, May 31, Slim Shady released “Houdini,” the lead single from his upcoming album.

In the video for his latest song, which was released the same day, Eminem receives a phone call from Dr. Dre, who revisits the 2002 “Without Me” visual. The track also features several homages to the 22-year-old songstress, including a reference to the lyrics, “Guess who’s back, back/Shady’s back, tell a friend.”

In the video, Dre’s call reveals that a portal from 2002 has opened in the city, meaning a younger, pale blue version of Eminem has arrived in 2024.

Both the older and younger versions of the “Superman” artist even appear together on screen, and the video features comic-book-style visuals also seen in “Without Me” — Eminem even wears the same superhero costume he wore in earlier visuals.

The video also features cameos from 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and comedian Shane Gillis in comic book-style parts of the video.

Ultimately, the “Stan” artist and his younger self eventually face off and merge into an older version of the hip-hop star, with longer, pale blonde hair.
