Eminem’s daughter reacted emotionally to his latest project.
Hailie Jade Scott — who the rapper, 51, shares with ex-wife Kim Scott — revealed on the Aug. 23 episode of Just a little shady podcast that features some of the songs on her father’s latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)brought tears to her eyes.
While discussing the music video for Jelly Roll’s “Somebody Save Me,” which was released on Aug. 21, Hailie, 28, told co-host Brittany Ednie, “I watched it in [its] completely and I don’t think I can do it again.”
“I definitely cry every time I even hear that,” she continued. “And actually, Brittany put on a little commercial today and I said, ‘Can you turn it down?’ Like, are you trying to make me cry?’ ”

“Somebody Save Me,” in which Eminem details his battle with addiction and apologizes to his children — including Alaina Marie Scott, 31, and Stevie Laine Scott, 22, who he also shares with ex Kim — features an entire verse dedicated to Hailie.
“Hailie, I’m so sorry / I know I wasn’t there for your first guitar recital,” he raps on the emotional track, where he seems to be reflecting on the big milestones he may have missed out on due to his addiction problems. “I didn’t walk you down the aisle / I missed the birth of your first child / Your first podcast, I’m looking down baby / I’m so proud of how you turned out.”
The song, along with Skylar Gray’s “Temporary” — which the rapper said he wrote for Hailie, and which features footage of her as a toddler — elicited an emotional response, Hailie told Ednie.

“I mean, I can’t,” she said. “I sobbed audibly, I think, for both songs, but especially for ‘Temporary’. ”
“But I will say, watching the video and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job growing up,” Hailie continued. “Where I didn’t realize how bad things were, but now as an adult looking back, it’s so scary to think about.”

That’s why she gets so “emotional” while listening to the songs, Hailie explained: “Just thinking that could happen.”
“And obviously that’s the point of the song,” she said. “But I’ll just say, if you’ve ever lost an addict or a loved one, I feel for you, and, yes, I feel that way.”

Referring specifically to the “Somebody Save Me” video — which features home videos of Hailie and her sisters as kids — she continued, “It’s a great video and it’s fun to see clips like that of us when we were younger, even ‘Mockingbird,'” but I can’t even listen to it anymore without crying.”
“The older I get,” Hailie continued, “the less I can listen to any of the songs, but it’s fun to see those clips — just not in that context.”
