Emma Roberts follows her own set of rules when it comes to society’s beauty standards.
In a recent interview with in style, the American Horror Story star, 32, opened up about how she became comfortable with hair after being teased for having a single eyebrow as a child.
“It’s so funny because when you’re in a trend moment with eyebrows or hair, you never know you’re in a trend until you’re out of it — and then you can’t believe it,” she said. . “But the first thing I remember about my eyebrows, because everyone makes fun of us for something we remember growing up, was being at school and this kid telling me I had one eyebrow.”

While Roberts explained that she doesn’t believe body hair is something to be ashamed of, she recalled the experience as an unforgettable moment in her life because she went home to find her mom feeling “really bad” about her.
“And that’s when I started to realize that, ‘Wait, you should get your eyebrows done? What do you mean?’ I couldn’t have been more than 6 or 7 years old,” he said Scream queens the actress continued. “So yes, my eyebrows really did travel with me.”

Roberts said that she no longer plucks her eyebrows and focuses on maintaining them.
“When it comes to the face and brows, it’s really about what my products are going to be on my face and what my makeup is going to be on my face,” Roberts said. “And when you’re in front of the camera, you unfortunately have to be more aware of that. Definitely when I’m not working, I’m not necessarily as hard on myself as I am when I’m working, just because everyone has an opinion.”

Roberts also credits her son Rhodes Robert, 2, who she shares with ex Garrett Hedlund, when it comes to her beauty routine.

“In the morning, sometimes there’s no routine at this point,” she said, adding that “it’s important to be faster.”
Roberts shared that she has adopted a similar approach to her style since becoming a mother.
“I just try to keep it pretty simple,” she said. “I’ve noticed that you can instantly transform a casual outfit into a not-so-casual outfit with a pair of earrings. It’s a good mum, earrings and a red lip and it looks like you’ve really made an effort.”
