Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling Have Sweet La La Land Reunion at 2024 Golden Globes as They Share a Hug

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling had a sweet reunion at the 2024 Golden Globes.

Stars — who starred in both Crazy stupid love (2011) and La la country (2016) — were both up for acting honors at Sunday’s Globes, with Stone, 35, taking home the best actress in a motion picture (musical or comedy) award for her performance as Bella Baxter in Poor people.

In a video shared on the Globes’ official TikTok account, Stone and Gosling, 43, are among the former stars pictured at reunions during the show, sharing a sweet embrace at the Beverly Hilton.

La la country was a favorite in the 2017 awards season, earning an Oscar nomination for Gosling and a Best Actress win for Stone, her first Oscar. She also took home a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and more for her performance.

The film tells the story of an aspiring actress Mia (Stone) who falls in love with a struggling jazz musician Sebastian (Gosling) in the middle of the cruel entertainment scene of Los Angeles. It won a record 14 Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.

In addition to her acting win at Sunday’s Globes, Stone also picked up a second award for producing Poor people when it won the award for best film, musical or comedy.

In conversation with PEOPLE at the screening of the film in Los Angeles Curse season 1 finale on Monday (in which she also stars and produces), Stone revealed that her new awards will “come back home to New York.”

“Maybe they’re on the plane. Shaking. Scared. Unaware of where they are. I’m completely alone. Confused,” joked the actress, who attended Monday’s event alongside actors Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie. “But I hope they’re all right.”

IN poor people, Stone reunites with director Yorgos Lanthimos and writer Tony McNamara for the sequel to their Oscar-winning film Favorite.

In the film, she plays Bella Baxter, a woman who received a clean 10 in life through an experimental procedure by scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). After being reborn, Bella gradually discovers the wonders—and dangers—of the world and her own sexual awakening.

Meanwhile, Gosling was up for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of Ken in the Barbie. (The award went to Robert Downey Jr. for Oppenheimer.)

Despite Gosling not winning the trophy, Barbie made an impressive showing at the Globes, leading with the most nominations of any film this year.

The Greta Gerwig-directed blockbuster, which was the highest-grossing film of 2023, took home awards for Best Original Song (Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?”) and Best Motion Picture and Cinematography.

On Wednesday it was announced that Barbie earned four nominations at the upcoming 2024 SAG Awards, including acting honors for Gosling and actress Margot Robbie, while Poor people earned nominations for Stone and co-star Willem Dafoe.
