The latest is Laurel who splits from her husband Jai Sharma after discovering his lies and betrayal regarding his own father Amit and step brother Suni.
However, the stress causes Laurel to pass out and rush to the hospital in tonight’s episode.
Appearing on today’s Lorraine to discuss her latest Emmerdale storyline, Charlotte, 51, also recalled the real-life moment she had to be taken to A&E from the set.
She said: “This is something that happened on set years ago.
“During the filming, I was making bolognese, just like you, with a very dull knife and chopping, and I cut off the tip of my finger while filming.
“At the time, I was pretending to be pregnant like Laurel, so I had to be rushed to the ER with a prop man and my pretend baby bump.
“They were so confused and more concerned about my child, but obviously, my child wasn’t real, and neither was my husband.”
Host Lorraine laughed before joking: “And then you have to go, that’s not my husband and the baby isn’t real, but I actually cut the tip of my finger off with a knife while making bolognese for the show… and they go ‘ahh ok’ , it’s crazy, isn’t it?”
The women also discussed Laurel’s marriage to Jai, with Charlotte admitting, “I think it’s definitely going to happen.”
“She collapsed at the end of this episode because of the stress. She was pretty stoic about it, but she’s had enough.”

When Lorraine said she wasn’t a fan of Jai – played by Chris Bisson – Charlotte replied: “He’s a bit of a curmudgeon, isn’t he?
“I don’t think he ever matched the Ashley he quotes.”
