Mark Wahlberg opened up about hanging out with Halle Berry in their new Netflix movie Union.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, published on Tuesday, July 2, Wahlberg, 53, talked about his on-screen romance with Berry, 57.
“…Halle, she and I have known each other for so long and this movie is going to be so great because it’s every man’s fantasy to think they got a chance with Halle Berry,” Wahlberg told the news outlet.
Union premiere on August 16 on the streaming platform. The film follows a New Jersey construction worker who is recruited by his high school sweetheart to embark on a “high-stakes US intelligence mission,” according to the synopsis.

In the interview, Wahlberg elaborated on the relationship between the two main characters, played by him and Berry.
“They were childhood sweethearts and they’re getting back together. He basically waited 25 years for her to come back and walk through that door and into his life, and it’s happening, and there’s nothing he won’t do to prove himself to her if he gets a second chance,” he said.

The Arthur the king the actor continued, “For me, that was the whole motivation of the character: just to do whatever he can to not screw up again.”

However, Wahlberg admitted that it was “a little weird” to star in a romantic relationship on screen, given that he has been married to his wife Rhea Durham since 2009.
“Anyway, I think it’s a little strange when you show some kind of romance on the screen, it’s not normal, but my wife knows that she is my everything,” he said. – She is the most special woman in the world.

On Monday, Durham shared sweet photos from Durham’s 46th birthday bash, which she celebrated with Wahlberg and their four children β Ella, 20, Michael, 18, Brendan, 15, and Grace, 13.
“ππΌβοΈ Thank you God for another birthday ππππΌ 4οΈβ£6οΈβ£π,” Durham captioned the post.
Wahlberg also posted a snap from the meal on Instagram, sharing the same picture of himself, Durham and Grace sitting and smiling together and writing: “HAPPY BAN DAY BABY π₯°ππ₯³πβ€οΈπ.”
Meanwhile, Berry has been in a relationship with musician Van Hunt since 2020, whom she called her “love [her] life.”
