Erika Girardi kept her last name.
While speaking at BravoCon 2023, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star — also known as Erika Jayne — has said she has no plans to replace Girardi following the legal troubles of her estranged husband Tom Girardi.
“I thought about all that, I thought about all this,” she said when asked about a possible name change. “I realized that I don’t like any last name. I’d like to go with Erika alone, but that’s just not possible.”
In addition, Erika, 52, cited the legal issues she faced, including being named as an alleged accomplice to her estranged husband, as an element of her last name decision. “With all the legal stuff going on right now, yeah I’d love to, but it’s such an af—ed process for me right now, it’s almost not worth it,” Erika said before adding, “But thank you, definitely I thought about that.”

She addressed Tom’s misdeeds, which include a recent fraud indictment for allegedly stealing from the families of plane crash victims in 2018 and which first occurred in 2020, at the same time Erika filed for divorce after 21 years of marriage. However, Erika claims that she had no insight into Tom’s criminal activities. Some of the related lawsuits name Erika as an alleged accomplice.
In August 2022, Erika was acquitted of one of the aforementioned charges. Documents obtained by PEOPLE through Erika’s attorney state that “there is no evidence to support the ‘aiding and abetting’ claim against Ms. Girardi, which supports summary judgment,” since the court concluded that Erika had “no knowledge” of misdeeds.
One ongoing legal battle alleges that Erika was the “front woman” in one of Tom’s alleged financial schemes.

Despite the legal chaos, Erika turned her gaze back to her passions. While at the convention, she announced that her Las Vegas residency would become a two-part Bravo documentary series called Erika Jayne: Bet on the blonde. She called it her return to music after the turmoil of the court proceedings.
“Tom’s behavior has been bad for three years,” Erika said in the trailer. S— this man did. His family, he hurt them too. Now I have to pick myself up and put on a show. Not that it’s going to get any fucking better.”
