At the age of three, Erin began studying music with her father, Mark Holland, and gradually became an expert in the art of playing clarinet, saxophone and other instruments. At the age of 4, Erin received training in jazz and tap dancing. While studying music theory, over time she came into the limelight as a musical theater artist and jazz singer.

Erin attended Cairns State High School in Cairns. During this time she expertly performed with big bands, orchestras, choirs, wind ensembles and many other musicals. In 2006, she won a music scholarship to Cairns State High School and subsequently to the University of Sydney Women’s College.
She completed her graduation in Music (Classical Vocal and Languages) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She also received several honors in the RAD Advanced Examinations.
On July 20, 2013, Erin participated in the 2013 Miss World Australia competition and won the crown. On September 28, 2013, she won the Miss Oceania World Continent Beauty Queen Award.
