Erin Krakow wants to help you have an enjoyable holiday season When the heart calls actress, 39, recently partnered with wine house Maison Louis Jadot to create her own gift – a guide to curated book and wine pairings. “It’s perfect for cuddling or sharing with your book clubs during the holiday season,” says Krakow PEOPLE. “I’m an avid reader and I also love wine, so this seemed like the perfect match and partnership.”

The complete guide, which is listed on Krakow’s Instagram, includes some of the actress’ favorite books paired with various wines. A novel by Nicholas Sparks Notebook complements Pouilly-Fuissé, i Me before you by Jojo Moyes is what you can read with a glass of Chardonnay Bourgogne. Krakow says she deliberately matched the themes of the books with the bottles themselves. “Beaujolais-Villages is a very classic wine. It’s tried and true. It’s a fantastic red, so it seems like it would really pair with a classic book, something we’ve all probably known and loved for a while,” she says of the choice paired with Louisa May Alcott. Little woman. “Or, something like Chablis. It’s really light and pristine, and goes really well with shells, so I remembered another favorite of mine, Where the Crawdads Sing.”Little woman is a particularly special book for Krakow, who read it growing up and calls it “a real favorite.”

“There’s also been so many interesting movies based on that book, so it’s been fun to see different versions of it,” she says. When considering which books her What does the heart call a character that might appeal to Elizabeth, Krakow says that Alcott’s novel is a possible candidate.

“My instinct said Little woman, right off the list, because that seems the most classic and probably the closest to the 1920s, when our story takes place,” Krakow says. “But I also think that my character Elizabeth is a real lover of romance, like me. So, probably a book with a very strong love story.” With the holidays coming up, the actress has some literary plans of her own. “I think we’ll spend some time baking in the kitchen,” she says. “We’ll probably do puzzles and maybe put together A lego or two, playing with the kids. But we’re all big readers. Looking forward to some cozy nights in [the] fireplace. Everyone is tucked in with their book and swapping stories and sharing wine. Maybe I can encourage everyone to pick up the same book this year so we can all catch up and talk about the book, and maybe enjoy the same wine together. That would be nice.”

The new year will also bring some exciting developments on her Hallmark show. We don’t have a premiere date yet, but it will be sometime in 2024, season 11,” she says. “It was a great, great season. “I love New York,” she says. “I spent a long time there and I actually grew up as an actor myself…it’s my favorite place, so I’m very excited to be back.” As for her partnership with Maison Louis Jadot, Krakow says she hopes the pairing guide will “really encourage people to reconnect with reading for pleasure.” “I hope they experience the same kind of sensory uplift that I do when I find the perfect wine paired with the perfect book.
