Eva Longoria’s directorial debut, Flamin’ Hotit came with an unexpected — and spicy — addition.
At La Cena Los Angeles on Friday, an event celebrating Latina creatives in film and television in Hollywood, the actress and director, 48, revealed to PEOPLE that she’s currently working on stocking up on a lifetime supply of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
Longoria said they “just keep sending her” the main bite from the movie — even though it’s no longer her main desire.

The Housewives The alum is “not a huge consumer of them,” although she “grew up with them,” she tells PEOPLE.
“They’re definitely a staple in my pantry,” she adds.

Flamin’ HotLongoria’s directorial debut, was released on Hulu in June 2023. At the Austin, Texas premiere of the film — which is based on a true story — last March, Longoria became emotional while talking to PEOPLE about the project.
“I’m speechless,” Longoria said. “I’m so emotional right now. It’s hard to do an interview.”
She continued: “This is my homeland, so I’m premiering this film in my homeland [and] the fact that it is Flamin’ Hotabout a Mexican American who is a hero in our community, to bring his story to the big screen — it’s an honor and beyond exciting.”

The film follows the story of Frito-Lay janitor Richard Montañez (played by Jesse Garcia), who uses his Mexican-American heritage to become a marketing expert. Speaking to PEOPLE at the premiere, Montañez called the film “so amazing.”

While sharing a first look at the film ahead of its release, Longoria told PEOPLE that when Flamin’ Hot“The script and the story found their way to me and my heart,” she thought to herself, “I have to tell this story.”
“I’m so interested in all the themes we explore in the film: the story of the underdog, the pursuit of riches, adversity and overcoming obstacles,” she said at the time. “All these things I had, ‘These are the themes I want to explore and this is the story I want to tell through.'”
“At the same time, it’s big pop culture,” she continued. “It’s one of those origin stories that makes you want to buy the product. As opposed to, ‘I’m never going to buy that again.’ It’s a beautiful origin story that makes you go, ‘Wow.’”
The actress added, “You’re really inspired and motivated to go, ‘Why not me? I can.'”
