Star Wars is celebrating Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Grogu as a family – will the Mandalorians ever be recognized as an official couple?
Star Wars admits that Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze should be a couple, keeping the door open for it to happen in The Mandalorian season 4. Despite a rocky start to their relationship over Darksaber rights, Din and Bo-Katan demonstrated great chemistry in season 3. Kryze came to Mando’s rescue on a number of occasions – including twice on Mandalore – and Din backed her up as a rightful ruler by passing on the Darksaber.
Star Wars UK shared a tweet referring to Din Djarin, Bo-Katan, and Grogu as a found family.
The moment featured from The Mandalorian season 3, episode 6 “Guns For Hire” demonstrated the trio’s tight bond forged throughout the series. While Din had always been interpreted as Grogu’s father figure (and officially became one in the finale), Bo assumed a motherly role for the foundling.
Din, Grogu, & Bo-Katan Already Form A Family
It’s an unlikely group, but Din Djarin, Bo-Katan, and Grogu form a small family by the end of The Mandalorian season 3. Mando and Grogu leave for Nevarro to live a peaceful life while Bo leads the people of Mandalore, but the relationship remains in good shape. Grogu found himself looking up to Bo over the course of the season, first due to a need for help and later as maternal figure. Bo-Katan’s blood family is as destroyed as Din and Grogu’s, making her a natural fit with the pair despite her royal status.
There’s room to explore a potential romance between Din and Bo, though the former would need to remove his helmet on occasion. Mando proved his loyalty to her time and again, and pledging himself to Bo’s rule was as intimate a moment as any the series has seen. Din and Bo-Katan’s chemistry was strong enough to warrant a kiss outtake, though that was more goofing off on the part of the actors. More pressing matters currently face the two, but The Mandalorian season 4 can bring Din Djarin and Bo-Katan together as a couple through the thing Mandalorians know best: conflict.
