Everton could face a further NINE-POINT deduction if three clubs are successful with £300MILLION compensation claim

EVERTON reportedly face a further nine point deduction if Burnley, Leicester and Leeds succeed in their £300m compensation claim.

The trio are rumored to be preparing lawsuits against Everton for £100m each after they were relegated from the Premier League in recent seasons.

And if they are successful with their claim, the Toffees could have to pay £300m in damages, reports the Daily Mail.

It is claimed that Everton’s new owners 777Partners would not be able to pay if they were hit with such a bill.

And this means that the club would be placed under administration, which would lead to a further deduction of nine points.

It comes after Everton were deducted ten points for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

Everton have been fined for breaching profit and sustainability rules after posting financial losses of £44.7m for the 2021-22 season – bringing their three-year total to £124.5m.

That exceeds the Premier League’s threshold, which allows a maximum loss of £105m over three years, by £19.5m.

Leeds, Leicester and Burnley are believed to have contacted 777Partners ahead of the verdict to express their intention to sue if found guilty.

Burnley suffered relegation in 2022 as Everton’s overspending helped them beat the Clarets to safety by four points.

While Leeds and Leicester, who were relegated from Prem last season, claim that Everton should have had points during the 2022/23 season, where they survived with two points.

The three clubs have 28 days to formally submit their request, with the Premier League expecting a hearing to be held before the end of the season.

David Phillips KC ruled that the trio had a case and said in a statement: “I am satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for damages.

“Those claims and their validity depend on whether the appeal is upheld.”

If there are problems with administration, Everton could be forced to sell some big-name players, including Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

It would also mean they are likely to suffer relegation, although the supercomputer has tipped them to stay despite the ten point deduction.

Chelsea and Manchester City could also face relegation if they are hit with similar sanctions for FFP breaches – City were hit with 115 charges earlier this year.
