Every Ninja Location in Paper Mario: The Origami King

During the main plot Paper Mario: The Origami King, Mario must enter the Tricky Ninja House attraction to hunt down the green character who allegedly stole the Master Key. Once inside, Mario’s goal is to find all the ninjas hidden within the attraction. The attraction itself is an obstacle course, with each room a puzzle in itself. Finding all 25 ninjas will reward the player with the Collector’s Treasure 50 Luigi and the Collector’s Treasure 51 Ninja Token, and finding Luigi in the house will reward the Skeleton Key, which will allow Mario to continue his exploration of Shogun’s Atelier.

Similar to the hidden toads scattered across the map, players will want to explore all the hidden corners of the house to find the hidden ninja. They have a few more battles to fight to complete this part of the story. Here are every hidden ninja location in Ninja House and how to get to them and complete the attraction.

Every Ninja Location in Paper Mario: The Origami King

Ninjas in the attraction love to hide, including behind walls and inside objects. Unlike hidden toads, these toads are not easy to spot. No part of the Ninja appears until Mario finds it. Here are all the ninja locations in order.

There are ninjas in the first room

When Mario arrives, there is only one ninja in the first room, and finding him will reveal a hallway to the rest of the house.

  • Ninja 1: Once Mario enters the house of the cunning ninja, he will see a wall in front of him with an off-center black pillar. He needs to hammer that wall to reveal the ninja behind it.

Ninja in the second room

Once Mario hammers the wall and finds the first ninja, a corridor will open. He needs to walk down the corridor to the door on the left and enter that room. There are 7 ninjas in this room.

  • Ninja 2: Inside the lantern, found by hammering the lantern
  • Ninja 3: Found on the platform in the middle of the room by standing on a log and repeatedly knocking the ashes
  • Ninja 4: Inside the chest, found by opening the chest and pulling the ninja out of the exposed top
  • Ninja 5: Inside the double door on the right side of the box, open the door to find it
  • Ninja 6: Above the wardrobe, open the wardrobe door on the right and pull the rope in to find it.
  • Ninja 7: Behind the left closet door, found by sliding the right closet door closed and sliding the left closet door open
  • Ninja 8: Hanging upside down in the small alcove to the left of the wardrobe, found by pulling the string next to the patterned lampshade

Ninja in the third room of Paper Mario

Three of the six ninjas in the third room of the Fantasy Ninja House attraction in Paper Mario: The Origami King

To enter the next room, Mario needs to pull down the patterned hood near Ninja 8. This will reveal a secret tunnel for him to travel through. In the third room, which is covered with tatami mats, Mario can find 6 ninjas. Five ninjas are hidden under the mats and can be found by stepping on the edge of the correct mat. Mario needs to fight the ninja unless he can jump on the ninja without using his hammer. If he uses the hammer in or out of combat, the ninjas will use their Ninja Decoy technique to defeat him.

  • Ninja 9: After entering the room, under the third pad against the left wall (the only square pad)
  • Ninja 10: There are four pads under the square pads on the right side of the left wall
  • Ninja 11: Under the square mat in the lower right corner of the room, against the rightmost wall
  • Ninja 12: Under another square pad near the rightmost wall
  • Ninja 13: Under the square mat to the left of where Ninja 12 is hiding

Players will need to look a little harder to find Ninja 14. This game is not under the mat. Instead, Mario needs to run to the back of the room and hit the back right wall to reach the other side of the room. He then needs to pull the rope to see the Ninja 14 hanging upside down from the window.

Mario needs to go left after finding Ninja 14 and exit through the secret tunnel. He will go through the garden, where there are no ninjas. Behind the garden, hammer the stone lantern to find a set of hidden rooms that allow Mario to rescue Luigi and obtain the Skeleton Key.

Use the walkway across the garden to enter the next room. Here, the floor is covered with more tatami mats and nails. There are 6 ninjas in this room and 3 in the rafters, but the player needs to move slowly to avoid getting hurt by the spikes. The spikes only appear on certain sides of certain pads. Like a maze, players need to solve puzzles to lead Mario in the right direction.

  • Ninja 15: At the door. Mario needs to walk back to the door to trigger this ninja.
  • Ninja 16: On the spikes on the next square pad to the left of the door.
  • Ninja 17: On the spike at the border between the two rectangular pads that form an inverted L shape on the right wall
  • Ninja 18: Behind the Secret Door. To reach this ninja, go to the back of the room and hit the back left wall with your hammer to reveal a secret room. Pull the rope to reveal the stairs and Ninja 18.
  • Ninja 19: In the rafters. To reach this ninja, climb the descending stairs while revealing Ninja 18. Turn left, then left again toward the discolored part of the rafters. Mario should hammer the discolored part, flipping it over and revealing Ninja 19.
  • Ninja 20: Go through the rafters to the right of Ninja 19, then turn around and go down the right wall. Hammer the fourth square wall panel (slightly ajar) to expose the Ninja 20
  • Ninja 21: Go back through the rafters to the left and all the way to the front of the room (closest to the player). Jump to avoid falling. Over the last rafter. There is a gap near the lower right corner, which can be hit with a hammer to reveal the path to the treasure chest. Open the treasure chest to find Ninja 21.
  • Ninjas 22 & 23: Go across the rafter path revealed with the hammer again (to the left) and drop through the gap in the rafter. Landing on a wooden rectangle in front of two symmetrical green and yellow tatami mats. Move forward an inch and pound the space between the two pads until two spikes appear on the large center rectangle, revealing Ninja 22 and 23.

Ninja in the last room of Paper Mario

The last Ninja Mario needs to be found in Paper Mario: The Origami King's Tricky Ninja House attraction

Once Mario reveals Ninja 22 and Ninja 23, he will need to go through that doorway and enter the final room. There are two more ninjas here and Mario will receive his reward.

  • Ninja 24: Found on the door to the left room, close the door when entering the room
  • Ninja 25: In the second filing cabinet drawer on the bottom floor. To achieve this, Mario must first cross the room and hammer the slightly darker colored floor. This will cause the filing cabinet to transform into a staircase shape. Hammer each filing cabinet compartment in the second row from the bottom, working your way from right to left to open each drawer. In the last drawer of the row, Mario will find the Luigi collectible. Hammer the drawer containing Luigi’s collectibles to force open the bottom drawer to reveal the Ninja 25.
