These challenges can increase intelligence and improve concentration.
How does an optical illusion work?
OPTICAL illusions are a great way to test your vision and cognitive abilities, requiring you to really think and observe what’s in front of you.
More often than not, players have to find something hidden within the image that cannot be immediately found at first glance.
But the more you stare at it, the more your brain tries to help you find the answer.
What you see and what you think you see are two completely different things, but your senses collect information and send it to your brain.
Your brain then creates a perception with this information, filling in the gaps when there is incomplete information or creating an image that is not there at all.
This reaction is actually a survival instinct.
Our brains have evolved to work quickly to piece together all the information they can get, before doing their best to figure out the rest.
So when you look at an optical illusion, your brain works with what it has to develop reality to help you see the answer in the image.

Spotting animals such as a dog or a cat can be one of the most difficult tasks in optical illusions because they are never where you expect them to be.
To make things harder, try to figure out what’s wrong with this picture of smiling women while counting their legs in 11 seconds.
Or maybe you want to prove you have 20/20 vision while searching for a strawberry in this carnival scene.
Psychologists at the University of Glasgow have discovered that looking at an optical illusion can improve vision by allowing you to see fine print.
Escape London says puzzles can also give your mind a good workout and can “boost your brain activity” which “reduces the risk of dementia”.
