Everyone can see the reef – but you have a high IQ if you can spot the hidden eel in 10 seconds

DIVING deep into an underwater puzzle will reveal an aquatic animal with fins – and your IQ.

Test your skills by trying to spot an eel in an easily visible reef and see if you get a high score.

“Do you see the eel hiding here?” asked Laura Rogers (@laurarojahs).

The clock was ticking because those ready for the optical illusion challenge had only ten seconds to find the fish.

At first glance, various shades of green appeared in the form of sponges and sea urchins.

Put your eyes to the test as you continue to scan the reef in the deep blue ocean.

Somewhere inside, there is an eel that easily camouflages itself into its surroundings.

A close-up picture of the reef showed even more green creatures and rocks that had most likely been deep in the sea for many years.

Don’t give up yet as things get clearer closer to the top of the ridge.

Its body might remain mostly hidden, but the green-and-black spotted eel could soon be seen with its mouth wide open.

The fish had indeed found a crack among other similarly colored reef creatures.

If you spot the eel before the time runs out, you may indeed be a genius.

According to PBS.org, there are about 800 species of this creature.

Eels can weigh from one ounce to several hundred pounds.

They may not have pelvic fins, but eels boast continuous dorsal, anal, and caudal fins.

Studies also show that optical illusions can expand and improve overall brain health, as described in the Harvard Business Review.
