This puzzle was shared on the Reddit thread r/opticalillusions with one person asking, “Can anyone help??”
“I’ve been staring at this for so long and I can’t figure it out,” they wrote.
“I’m going crazy over this.”
In the foreground is a cat’s leg, and below on the floor is the head of another cat.
Can you figure out what’s going on in this picture?
In another post about the image, users shared their frustrations.
“This hurts my head, how is this possible?!?!?!?” one user asked.
Another simply concluded that the puzzle was too tricky so it must be a “headless cat”.
As users tipped each other, some seemed to get even more confused.

“Oh please HELP (it doesn’t help to say it’s a step),” said another.

The key problem that users have realized is that they are trying to connect the leg to the cat’s head.

“So there are two cats. I was trying to figure out how the leg fits the head. Thanks!” wrote one grateful player.
The image can be solved by looking closely at the foreground of the image.
Where the cat’s leg is, there are large tiles and they are not repeated in the background where the bicycle is.
The reason for this is that the cat in the foreground on the tiles is standing on a large step.
Meanwhile, another cat’s head is poking over the stairs from the lower level, its body leaning against the bottom of the stairs.
