The NCIS The franchise was extremely successful for CBS, so much so that several spinoff series were created, including NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans and NCIS: Hawaii.
As the original series prepares for its 21st season, the latest spinoff series, NCIS Hawaii, is also gearing up for a new set of episodes.
The sequel Hawaii was launched in 2021 and made history as the first NCIS series that will have a female lead role. Vanessa Lachey plays Jane Tennant, the first female special agent who leads the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Lachey shared an Instagram post when her role was announced and described how honored she was to play the character, captioning the post with, “Now let’s get to work!”
When the series first started, the cast and crew participated in a traditional Hawaiian blessing on the island of Oahu. After a successful first season, the series was picked up for a second season, which saw fans go through the ups and downs of the lives of Navy crime investigators working on the island.

When it was NCIS: Hawaii renew for a third season?

NCIS: Hawaii and the original series of the franchise, NCISthey were renewed for the new seasons in February 2023.
Both series were expected to debut on CBS in the fall of 2023, but due to writer and actor strikes, production on the series could not begin until they both wrapped in September and November, respectively.

In the finale of the second season, several stars from other countries performed NCIS entity, like Wilmer Valderrama from the original NCIS and LL Cool J of NCIS: Los Angeles. LL Cool J played the character of Sam Hanna for 14 seasons and was a fan favorite.
His cameo on NCIS: Hawaii went so well that he will be back for the upcoming season. “All of us at ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ have been huge fans of LL Cool Ja for years and couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to add his spectacular talent to our lineup for season three,” said executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash and Christopher Silber Diversity.

In the series finale, Adrian Creel, a character from Jane’s (Lachey) past, puts the whole thing on NCIS: Hawaii crew in danger. Maggie (Julie White) and Jane thought they had killed him with a car bomb beforehand, but he was alive and seeking revenge.
By the end of the final episode, Adriana would kill – for real this time – Maggie. However, an Easter egg in the episode revealed that the NCIS team may not be safe in season three.
There was also a crossover episode between all three shows in the NCIS franchise that ended with Jane and Kate (Tori Anderson) attacked in Venezuela.
Although he was last seen in the Moroccan desert during the series finale NCIS: Los Angelesthe women were helped by Sam (LL Cool J).
