But he won’t be available due to a bleeding leg.

A Gers statement read: “Rangers can confirm that goalkeeper Jack Butland will miss tomorrow’s Old Firm game with Celtic.

“The goalkeeper suffered internal bleeding in his leg which required hospital treatment, but has since been released and is recovering.

“Everyone at Rangers wishes Jack a speedy recovery.”

He spent the night under medical care before being discharged this morning.

Butland is understandably devastated to miss the Celtic clash.

He took to Instagram this afternoon to let fans know.

“I suffered significant bleeding in my leg which required hospital treatment,” Butland wrote.

“Thankfully it is now under control and will lead to a full recovery, hopefully sooner rather than later.

“Needless to say it came at a bad time and I was fully focused on helping us as a club.

“Now the most important thing is to support the boys and focus on getting back in shape as soon as possible.

“Stick together and push @RangersFC.”

The former England international announced the birth of his fourth child on December 21.

He was named in the Rangers squad ahead of the club’s game against Dundee, but withdrew after the warm-up to be with his wife.

Butland is currently in his second season with the Scottish team.

He joined as a free agent after his contract with Crystal Palace expired in July 2023.

Prior to that, the goalkeeper spent six months on loan at Manchester United but failed to make a first-team appearance.

Butland made his senior England debut in August 2012 at the age of 19 years and 158 days.

He made nine appearances for the Three Lions before falling out of favour.
