A history of 25 years with SPVM
Dagher has been with the SPVM for 25 years, but he just recently gained local notoriety for his work as the police chief in Longueuil, Quebec, where he introduced a community policing model that caught the eye of the provincial government and police services around the nation.
He had previously advanced to the position of assistant chief in Montreal. Then, in 2015, he was one of the candidates for the chief role, but Philippe Pichet was chosen. of 2017, Dagher was appointed police chief of Longueuil.

Dagher urged young people from all walks of life in Quebec to think about joining the police force and urged those enrolled in the province’s police school to travel to Montreal to complete their studies.
The SPVM has had trouble adding new officers, and their overall strength has been dwindling. According to the police union, there are 45 fewer officers on Montreal’s streets this month than there were a year ago.
