South African Aiden Markram broke the record for the fastest century in the 2023 edition of the World Cup. He reached his hundred in just 49 balls, batting against Sri Lanka in South Africa’s first match of the World Cup 2023. Markram finished his innings with 106 off 56 balls to help South Africa set a mammoth target of 400+ against a tough team and World Cup winners 1996. Sri Lanka.
#2: Kevin O’Brien
Ireland’s Kevin O’Brien holds the record for the second fastest century in the Cricket World Cup. He helped his team record a shock victory over rivals England in the 2011 World Cup, which was won by India. Batting at No.6, O’Brien scored an incredible 113 runs, reaching his century in just 50 balls, while chasing down England’s mammoth target of 328. Ireland won by 5 balls and 3 wickets to spare, and O’Brien etched his name forever in the history books with an outstanding strike.

Glenn Maxwell’s name has become synonymous with terror in cricket. The Australian heavy hitter is feared by bowlers the world over because of his explosive batting and unpredictability. Maxwell showed his batting prowess in the 2015 World Cup, scoring 100 in just 51 balls.

De Villiers holds the record for the fourth fastest hundred in the World Cup.
