The father of Ana Clara Benevides Machado, a Taylor Swift fan who died before the singer’s concert in Brazil, is demanding answers from the concert organizers.
Benevides Machado, 23, died ahead of Swift’s Eras Tour show at the Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro on Friday.
One of the event’s organizers, Time for Fun, identified Benevides Machado as the fan who died Saturday on Xu (formerly known as Twitter). IN postwritten in Portuguese, they said she was unwell at the scene and was treated by first responders before being taken to Salagdo Filho Hospital, where she died.
Benevides Machado’s father Weiny Machado, 53, told a Brazilian newspaper Folha de S. Paulo wants clarification on whether fans were prohibited from bringing water into Friday’s performance. “I want to know if it is true that they are forbidden to bring water and neglect to provide aid,” he told the newspaper. “I lost my only daughter, a happy and intelligent girl.”

“She was supposed to graduate with a degree in psychology next April, saving money,” Weiny continued. “I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfill a dream and came back dead.”
PEOPLE has reached out to Time for Fun for comment.
According to Folha de S. Paulofans at Swift’s show in Rio on Sunday claimed they weren’t given water while waiting in line for the concert.

A day earlier, the “Karma” singer postponed her performance in the city due to high temperatures. “I’m writing this from my locker room at the stadium,” Swift shared in a handwritten note posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday. “The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s performance due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers and crew must and will always come first.”
Entertainment Time later confirmed in a statement that the show had been moved to Monday.

Swift took to social media to share her disappointment over Anna Clara’s death. “I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but I’m heartbroken to say that we lost a fan tonight before my show,” Swift wrote in a handwritten message posted to her Instagram Stories on Friday.
“I can’t even tell you how devastated I was,” she continued. “I have very little information other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and too young.”
“I won’t be able to talk about this from the stage because I feel overwhelmed with grief when I even try to talk about it,” she wrote. “I want to say that I feel this loss deeply now and my heart goes out to my family and friends.”
“This is the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil,” Swift concluded her heartfelt note.

IN recording shared fans at X earlier in the night at Friday’s concert could see the pop superstar pausing his performance to ask for water to be brought to the fans.
“There are people who need water, right here,” Swift said as she stood up from the piano and pointed to a section of the audience where fans were waving empty water bottles. “So whoever is in charge of giving it to them, please come and make sure it happens. Can I get a signal so you know where they are?”
Fans in the audience started chanting: “Water, water”.

More video posted by a concertgoer around the same time Swift was shown again showing where fans in the crowd who needed water were.
“I’m sorry, it’s just – it’s really hot, so if someone says they need water when it’s this hot, they really do,” she said.
“We don’t need to chant, that’s fine. But we just need to get them water,” Swift told the crowd, before appearing to speak with someone in the audience to confirm that water was being brought to those in need.
