Artem Chigvintsev will miss Tuesday’s episode Dancing with the stars after testing positive for COVID-19.
The 41-year-old professional dancer announced his diagnosis on Instagram and shared that his partner Charity Lawson will be dancing with Ezra Sosa for the Latin Night show.
“So sad [to] announce but here it is. I won’t be performing with @charitylawson on @dancingwiththestars tonight due to Covid (Covid is bullshit),” he wrote. “But the good news is @charitylawson is still dancing with the amazing @ezra.sosa tonight.”

He added: “They’ve had a tough week, Ezra came in like a champ and they’ve been working really hard for the last few days so please give them all the love and support you can and don’t forget to vote.”
Sosa responded in the comments section, writing: “I’ll do my best to make Artem proud! 🫶🏻✨”
He also shared “bad news and good news” on his Instagram Story alongside a photo of him and Charity rehearsing.
“Good news I was able to tune in and will be performing with @charitylawson on @dancingwiththestars tonight!!!” he shared. “As excited as I am about this opportunity, I know it’s a tough situation for a partner, I’ll be with you every step of the way Charity, and I’ll do my best to make Artem proud!!!! Let’s go!”

Charity Lawson joins ‘Dancing with the Stars’ after getting engaged on ‘The Bachelorette’
Official DWTS Instagram also confirmed the news, writing “Artem will not be dancing tonight due to COVID. We wish him a speedy recovery! ❤️ Charity will perform with Ezra for #LatinNight. #DWTS”
The former Bachelorette responded in the comments section, writing: “A couple if you’ve ever seen what! Grateful that @ezra.sosa stepped in and got the job done!!! Don’t miss tonight and be sure to VOTE for me!”
Fellow pro Emma Slater also expressed her support, sharing, “Get well soon Artem ❤️ Ezra goooooooood!!!!! Can’t wait to see you and @charitylawson shine!”

The partner change comes after Lawson and Chigvintsev topped the charts in last week’s premiere episode. They danced the tango to Rihanna’s song “Only Girl in the World”, and as judge Bruno Tonioli declared right after their performance: “It was a fantastic tango!”
Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough agreed. In fact, Inaba was practically speechless, almost cursing with excitement on the air. “What week is it?!” she said with a laugh as Lawson’s fiance, Dotun Olubeko, beamed with pride in the audience.
“Excellent,” Hough said of the tango that earned the pair the highest score of the night.
