Flavor Flav Officially Teams with Red Lobster After Attempting to Save the Bankrupt Chain on Social Media

Flavor Flav is taking his Red Lobster fan status to a whole new level.

On Monday, June 10, the seafood chain unveiled a partnership with the hip-hop legend. The unlikely duo announced that Red Lobster’s Crabfest is officially back.

“Yes Boyeeee!” Flavor Flav, 65, exclaims at the beginning of the ad. “When the internet said Red Lobster was going away, boy Flavor Flav said not today!”

After the chain went bankrupt in May, Flavor Flav revealed on X that he visited a Red Lobster location and, in an attempt to keep the biscuits, made a big purchase. “I ordered the whole menu,” he said then.

His enthusiasm for the brand shines through even more in the Crabfest ad. “Crabfest is here, booee and they have two flavors – just like me, Flavor Flav,” he continues.

He announced the main flavors, roasted garlic and a new Cajun butter, which he described as part of “the most authentic comeback yet.”

“It’s Crabfest at Red Lobster, boyeeee,” the ad closes. “When you have to have seafood, you have to have Red Lobster.”

At Crabfest, guests can order a full pound of wild crab legs steamed with flavor options or simply steamed. Red Lobster is also introducing a new $20 creamy crab carbonara, a new crab and lobster duo, and a new snow crab and crab tip steak.

Flavor Flav’s first post about Red Lobster went viral because of his sheer dedication to the brand.

Alongside a photo of himself and two tables full of food – everything from chips and calamari to the chain’s titular crab – the rapper wrote: “You boy meant it when I said I would do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits.”

In an Instagram post featuring the same photo, Flav revealed that he didn’t enjoy so much of the menu alone — he brought his entire family to lunch with him.

One of the musician’s daughters, Dazyna, hinted that she was there — and reinforced her dad’s cause by sharing Flav’s post on her own Instagram account. “Get the biscuits ready!!!!” she wrote.

Flavo’s attempt to help Red Lobster comes after the company, known for its iconic biscuits and endless shrimp deals, filed for bankruptcy due to mounting debts.

The May 19 court filing — which came just days after the chain closed dozens of restaurants — said the chain filed for Chapter 11 voluntary bankruptcy in Florida, according to the Associated Press.

In a statement released on the day of the filing, Red Lobster said it will “drive operational improvements, streamline operations through reduced locations and continue to sell substantially all of its assets as a going concern.”
