Fleetwood Mac will tell their story in an upcoming documentary.
Apple TV+ is joining forces with The Kennedy/Marshall Company and White Horse Pictures and director Frank Marshall for a “fully authorized” documentary about the iconic British-American rock band, the streamer announced on Tuesday, November 19th.
“I’m fascinated by how this incredible story of tremendous musical achievement came to be,” Marshall told the public. “Fleetwood Mac somehow managed to weave their often chaotic and almost operatic personal lives into their own real-time story, which went on to become legend. This will be a film about music and the people who created it.”

Marshall, along with his wife Kathleen Kennedy, received the Irving G. Thalberg Award ahead of the 2019 Academy Awards. In recent years, he has turned to directing music documentaries, including the Grammy-winning Jazz Fest: A New Orleans Story and nominated for an Emmy Award The Bee Gees: How You Can Heal a Broken Heart. His latest movie is Disney+ The Beach Boys.
“We are thrilled to continue our creative partnership with Frank and the talented team at Kennedy/Marshall,” producer Nicholas Ferrall said Tuesday.

It will be the first time that the Grammy Award-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will give an account of their career in their own words. The band’s most famous lineup consisted of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie (died November 2022), Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer and Bob Welch were also members at various times in the band’s history.

“Fleetwood Mac are a musical phenomenon, their alchemy is almost incomprehensible. White Horse is grateful and humbled by the extraordinary opportunity to produce a documentary that takes a deep dive into the talents of each band member individually and the magic that is Fleetwood Mac as a whole. And to do that with the support and reach of Apple is pretty awesome,” continued Ferrall.
