Florence Pugh Shares Emotional ‘Last Picture’ of Her Hair Before Shaving Her Head for We Live in Time: ‘I’m Just Grateful’

Florence Pugh shares a behind-the-scenes look at her dramatic hair transformation.

On Sunday, October 20, the English actress (28) shared several posts on social media from the filming of her latest project – We live in time — played by Andrew Garfield, 41.

“This was the last picture I took with my hair,” she wrote on an Instagram Stories photo of her short blonde hair. In the film, Pugh portrays a woman named Almut, an up-and-coming chef diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer.

“To do this for this role was a real honor and privilege, lending my body to the story was something I always felt passionate about and confident about. I’m just grateful. I am so grateful,” she continued.

The photo accompanying the message was a repost from an Instagram carousel shared on her page. In a photo preview, Pugh described her experience filming the romantic drama.

In the lengthy caption, she explained that the reason it took her so long to share this part of her journey was because she “moved my life to the other side of the globe.”

“To say it completely took away my attention and energy is an understatement, so I can only apologize for the lack of sharing!” she continued.

Pugh added that she was “so proud” and reiterated that she was “so grateful” for the film.

“I’ve been desperate for a role like this for several years. A woman who is current and likable and goes through all the conversations that modern women go through every day,” the Oppenheimer the actress wrote.

She also thanked “many amazing minds [who] they came together to do it, and then the team that made it possible.”

In her carousel, Pugh posted even more pictures from the set — including the “AMAZING prosthetics team that put my baby on the bump for 3-4 hours every day,” which she called “superstars.”

Pugh ended her candid post by noting that she was “hesitating” to share anything else “because I know [the movie is] it’s not global yet and I don’t want to destroy it [it].”

According to the official synopsis by A24, “Almut (Pugh) and Tobias (Garfield) are brought together in a surprising encounter that changes their lives. As they navigate the challenging time constraints, they learn to appreciate every moment of the unconventional route their love story took, in director John Crowley’s deeply moving romance that spans decades.”

We live in time arrived in select theaters on October 11.
