Ding dong, the witch is dead!
In an exclusive first look for PEOPLE, the cast 9-1-1 honors The Wizard of Oz when they dress up as the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, Dorothy and her dog Toto.
In the Halloween episode titled “The Mask,” 118 will respond to some of the strangest emergencies — including a call involving a man with a pumpkin stuck on his head!

“We always love doing Halloween-themed episodes,” showrunner Tim Minear tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I think it’s a favorite holiday for most of our staff. And this love for the holidays is transferred exactly to our characters. This year might be the lightest Halloween episode we’ve done — until it happens.”

Entitled “Costume Contest”, Abbott Elementary SchoolThe Halloween episode will air on October 30th at 9:30pm ET.
According to the official episode diary, Quint Brunson’s Janine and Tyler James Williams’ Gregory are excited to show off their couples’ costumes — even though things don’t quite go according to plan.
Janine and Gregory’s costumes pay tribute Jurassic Park while Melissa Lisa Ann Walter is dressed as a guinea pig.
While talking to PEOPLE i Entertainment Weekly at the 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Red Carpet Live, Sheryl Lee Ralph gave the inside scoop on the upcoming Halloween special.
“Let me just say, it was hot, hot, hot,” recalled Ralph, who plays Barbara. “It was 107 degrees and I was covered in fur.” Despite the unpleasant working conditions, the star admits that the product of their work was “such a funny episode”.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Brunson teases what fans can expect “fun costumes and some pretty scary revelations for our characters!”

America’s Funniest Home Videos hopes to turn screams into laughs in its upcoming Halloween episode.
In an exclusive PEOPLE pictorial, host Alfonso Ribeiro gets into the holiday spirit as he strikes a terrifying pose in a special orange suit.
Executive producers Vin Di Bona and Michele Nasrway tease that fans will be treated to a variety of Halloween tricks and laughs are sure to follow.
“Every member of the family will enjoy some Halloween fun in this spooky episode, which features the funniest costumes, the anxious reactions of people and pets to scary decorations and the troubles of Trick or Treating,” they said.

Dancing with the stars
The five remaining couples competing for the Mirror Ball trophy will enter the spooky spirit with “hair-raising transformations and spine-tingling routines” on Nightmare Night on Halloween.
“The Halloween episode is always a highlight of the season for us because our dancers and stars get to bring out their spooky side,” showrunner Conrad Green tells PEOPLE. “We like to try to keep the night fresh every season, so this time we’re Theming the stars’ nightmares – the things that creep them out, and we get to know their deepest and darkest fears – and then bring them to life on live TV! We like to think of it as therapy…”

While it’s under wraps what nightmares the celebrity cast will be exploring, PEOPLE has an exclusive first look at Joey Graziadei and professional dancer Witney Carson’s evening costumes.

The former Bachelor will be dressed in a sleek tuxedo-like outfit with lace and chevron detailing, while Carson will seemingly dress up as a snake.

Doctor Odysseus

Joshua Jackson is the king of the sea in the Doctor Odysseusbrand new Halloween episode.
The episode, aptly titled “Halloween Week,” will feature a high-stakes costume contest. But when “a zombie-like disease afflicts select passengers, the festivities take a dark turn,” says the logline, “Meanwhile, Avery and Max embark on a rescue mission.”
In PEOPLE’s first look, Jackson isn’t the only one wearing a nautical-themed costume. Sean Teale, who plays nurse Tristan, embodied Captain Jack Sparrow.

“The only ones who had as much fun recreating those iconic characters as Poseidon and Jack Sparrow were Josh and Sean,” costume designer Rudy Mance tells PEOPLE. “When we got into costume, they both got into character straight away, with Josh puffing out his chest and talking in a deep voice while holding his spear, and Sean acting drunk on rum punch and swaying around.”
“I would tell you more about the other costumes that viewers can expect, but as we always say further on Doctor Odysseus‘Loose lips sink ships!!’” he laughed.
Doctor Odysseus airs Thursday, October 24 at 9:00 PM ET on ABC.

Press your luck will also have a special Halloween episode to celebrate the fall season.
Contestants will first answer trivia questions, which in turn allow them spins on the prize board. But it’s not all fun and games – the prize board also comes with some risk, as landing a “Whammy” will strip them of all their cash and prizes.
“If you’re a Halloween fan, then this episode of ‘Press Your Luck’ is for you! We’ve got thrills, creepy gifts and, of course, a terrifying WHAMMY,” host and executive producer Elizabeth Banks tells PEOPLE. “No gimmicks – just treats for those who dare to get involved.”
