Furious diners slam celebrity chef Rick Stein over size of the fish at his Cornish chippy

The chef of the famous Rick Stein is full of dinner to the size of the fish on his lace.

It charges a minimum of £ 15.95 to deviate from Haddock and Chips serving.

It is raised to 19.95 pounds for dinners at its cafe – plus another £ 2.25 pounds for a mayyon pot on the side.

But many dinners in Stein’s fish and chips in Padstow, Cornwall – known as Padstein after Rick – cheer for portions sizes.

One review of TripAdvisor is titled: “The cheap disgust of fish and chips at end prices in the west.”

The other buyer called “Bang average” and added: “I still can’t get over the charge of £ 2.25 for a small, small small pot of mayonnaise.”

The third announced: “It was not big enough for a children’s meal. Absolute waste.”

Food critic Gary Hanna said he was so disgusted with Rick’s runner that he eventually had a meal back.

When the sun took the ribbon measure to the table, our fish appeared at 10 inches – which means we got an inch of fish for almost 2 pounds.

And we found that Rick charged almost twice as much as local rivals.

In the nearby Porthleven, 9in Haddock and chips cost £ 12.30 (£ 1,36 per inch), and 9in meal in Helston costs £ 12 (£ 1,33 per inch).

Meanwhile, in a fishing box in Robin’s Hood Bay, near Whitby, a 14 -inch serving cost £ 10.90. They told us, “We are not sending here.”
