Music festivals require a lot of energy and preparation — and no one knows that better than the performers themselves.

The 2024 Governors Ball Music Festival took place June 7-9 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in New York City, and PEOPLE spoke with G Flip, Stephen Sanchez, Jessie Murph, FLO and Mimi Webb about their must-haves to enjoy in the weekend both in the crowd and on stage.

You need water, because you don’t want to pass out, so H2O or Liquid IV. Put your iPhone on Find My Friends so you don’t lose your friends — or if you’ve got a really loose partner you lose a lot, give them one of those Apple [AirTag] searcher, and put it in their pocket, because people get lost. Bring, of course, some money or some cards so you can get food, because you have to eat. And a sweet sign. I love it when people have signs. Must-have festival items:

A few shades, for sure. Tums or Pepto Bismol, because sometimes food will upset your stomach and cause acid reflux, which I get a lot, so I need some Pepto on hand. It avoids getting s—ed at the festival, which is horrible.

Rider backstage:

We love granola bars, SunChips, apples, bananas — potassium, that’s K. Gotta love that. I want to keep the womb happy.

Stella: Deodorant, powder, lip gloss, lip pencil, perfume, hair brush.

Renee: Carmex!

Jorja: Anything you can fit in that bag. A portable charger — or make sure your friend has one.

Definitely powder, because it gets hot. Hand sanitizer, hair brush, camera to take pictures, phone charger, sunscreen and hat.

Rider backstage:

I actually need to up my game because it’s pretty bad right now. I do a lot of pastries, Philadelphia cream cheese, fruit, sausage rolls — it’s a very British thing — and a bottle of rosé.
