G20 University Connect: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is scheduled to host the G20 University Connect program on September 26, 2023. The event will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi starting at 3:00 PM. At the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with vice-chancellors, principals, faculty and students from universities and colleges in the Delhi NCR region.

The UGC stated that a faculty coordinator will be appointed for smooth coordination. Those nominated for coordination purposes will have to submit their details along with email id and mobile number to [email protected]. In addition, G20 members from the Indian team will provide insights into the outcomes of G20 events during the programme.

How to register for the G20 University Connect event for higher education institutions?

According to the published notification, faculty coordinators and students of various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will have to register through the link provided by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) at viablesoft .ors.in/risinvitationex o23VDionlineree lstratron. asDx to attend the event. Students along with faculty coordinators will have to assemble at 2 pm to ensure smooth entry and security check. Students or faculty coordinators will not be allowed entry without prior registration.

G20 University Linking Notice

The UGC in a notification said, “As you know, India has achieved great success in the G20 University Connect programme. The University Connect program was led by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi, and supported by the G20 Secretariat.”

It further added “In view of the above, Higher Education Institutions (HEts) of National Capital Region (NCR) are requested to participate in the event by nominating 30-40 students and two faculty members to attend the programme. The Head of the Institution was also invited to join the event.”

UGC publishes guidelines for students enrolling under ODL, online courses

Earlier, the UGC had announced precautionary measures for students enrolling in online or open distance learning (ODL) programs offered by colleges and universities. These guidelines include, among other things, checking recognition status and avoiding prohibited programs.
