Given the actor’s outstanding performance over nine seasons, many fans are curious as to what happened to Gabriel Macht after Suits ended in 2019. USA Network’s beloved legal drama debuted in 2011 and only managed to stay on the air for about nine years. The star of the show, Macht, played successful attorney Harvey Specter, who considered himself “the best closer in town,” and who hired a high school dropout because of his extraordinary photographic memory.
Harvey, however, has to cover up the fact that his associate Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) is a fake lawyer practicing law. Joining Harvey and Mike on Suits over the course of nine seasons is a group of dogged paralegals, self-centered law partners, and profit-seeking peers. Macht’s smooth closure remains at the heart of the show even if Mike leaves Suits in Season 7, making him a fan favorite (and a source of irritation). Fans have no doubt been curious about Gabriel Macht’s recent activities following the airing of the Suits finale and officially closing a chapter in his playing career.
Gabriel Macht won the lead role in The Spirit, a neo-noir superhero film written and directed by Frank Miller (Sin City), after starting out in action in military and espionage films such as Bad Company, The Recruit, Behind Enemy Lines and The good shepherd. Macht wasn’t quite the role he imagined he’d star in when he was cast, despite The Spirit’s visual flair. On the television side, Macht once appeared on popular shows like Sex and the City, but was also plagued by unaired pilots and shows that lasted only a few episodes.
Suits changed Macht’s direction in 2011. He finally got his chance to shine as the main showrunner, and he did so for an incredible nine seasons. Macht’s cinematic ambitions were put on hold when he was cast as Harvey Specter, though he continued to produce Suits.
