International Translation Day 2023. History
In 1991, the International Federation of Translators initiated the idea of ββan officially recognized International Translation Day at the global level. The day aimed to honor and recognize the work of language experts who play a significant role in verbal understanding and cooperation.
Later in 2017, the United Nations General Assembly passed resolution 71/288 declaring September 30 of each year as International Translation Day to recognize the role of translators.
