Garth Brooks was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 7, 1962. He is 61 years old and was born under the sign of Aquarius. Troyal Garth Brooks is his full name and he is an American citizen.
Troyal Raymond Brooks Jr. is his father’s name and Colleen McElroy Carroll is his mother’s name. Garth’s father worked as a draftsman for an oil company, while his mother was a country singer in the 1950s who recorded for Capitol Records and appeared at the Ozark Jubilee. Kelly is also the name of one of his siblings. Jim, Jerry, Mike and Betsy are the names of his four half-siblings.

Garth Brooks began his professional music career in 1985, singing and playing guitar in Oklahoma clubs and bars, including Wild Willie’s Saloon in Stillwater. He liked rock music the most, although he listened to some country music. However, after hearing “Unwound” in 1981, he felt that playing country music was more his style. Finally, in 1985, entertainment attorney Rod Phelps drove from Dallas to hear Brooks, and was impressed enough to agree to produce the first demo.
Garth’s self-titled debut album was a chart success in 1989, and most of the songs were conventional country songs, partly influenced by George Strait. The following year, he released his second album, which spent 23 weeks at number one on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. This album became his best-selling record.
