Gary Oldman changed his look for the Golden Globes!
At Sunday’s awards ceremony, Harry Potter the actor, 65, became an unexpected red carpet highlight by accessorizing his simple black suit with a bow tie and vintage-inspired aviator sunglasses — and pulled his long, gray locks back into a sleek style.
Describing his appearance on Deadline Before the ceremony, Oldman said, “It’s a French braid!”

Oldman previously said Deadline in May 2022, that after the end of the series of spy thrillers, the end of his acting career could come sooner rather than later.
The the actor, who plays Jackson Lamb on the show, told the paper that “I could see myself playing Jackson for the next few years.”
Oldman added: “So if it went out with a bang, I mean, retirement is on the horizon. Yeah. I can see that.”

Although Oldman tends to keep things pretty tame on the red carpet, he’s no stranger to intense style transformations for roles.
The star won an Oscar for her chameleon-like transformation – which required 200 hours of make-up, according to Deadline — in Winston Churchill for The darkest hourand recently he looked unrecognizable as Harry S. Truman in Christopher Nolan’s film Oppenheimer.

Although it did not require intensive transformation, one of his most significant roles was Harry Potter franchise Sirius Black, which he addressed in December.
At Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Oldman called his portrayal of the beloved character — whose iconic hair is about as long as his now — “mediocre.” He said, “Maybe if I had read books like [Alan Rickman]if I had been ahead of the curve, if I had known what was coming, I honestly think I would have played differently.”
