Gaurav Chakrabarty is an Indian actor and editor who works primarily in Bengali films and television shows. He is famous for his role as Byomkesh Bakshi in the Bengali TV show “Byomkesh” (2014).

Gaurav Chakrabarty was born in Kolkata on Monday, March 6, 1989 (age 33 years; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Pisces. He was educated at the Assemblies of God Mission School, Calcutta. In 2005, he entered St. Xavier’s College to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication and Video Production. For his master’s degree, he went to the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, where he completed a postgraduate course in video editing.

I don’t feel pressure from my parents. Neither did my brother Arjun. My father was quiet but would give advice if asked. Maa was very encouraging and highly appreciated. After graduation, I did some theater acting in my family’s Charkbak band, but working with my dad left me with shaky knees. I admire my brother’s work very much. We have a great relationship and enjoy enjoying each other’s glory. There is no sense of competition at all.”
His mother Mithu Chakrabarty is a Bengali television actress. His elder brother Arjun Chakrabarty is also an actor in the Bangladeshi entertainment industry.

He is a member of the Charbak Theater Company, where he not only assists in backstage work, but also plays the role of Topshe in the play Apsara Theater-er Mamla. In 2010, Gaurav made his debut in the television show Gaaner Opare aired on Star Jalsha along with his brother Arjun Chakrabarty. In an interview, talking about his role in the show Gaaner Opare, he said:
A few years later, Gaaner Oparey happened. My role was originally to be played for three months, but the huge popularity of the series extended my role to the end. I think Gaaner Oparey is the most popular show on Bengali satellite channels but the producers refused to extend it which is the right thing to do. “

I play Alko, a directing student at SRFTI who accompanies an aging Subir Banerjee, the actor who played Apu in Ray’s “Pather Panchali”, to Germany. We represent the present.
