Gavin Rossdale's Son Zuma Joins Him on Stage to Sing with Dad and Celebrate His 16th Birthday (Exclusive)

Gavin Rossdale had a special guest with him on stage last night.

Frontman Bush Zum’s son took the stage with Rossdale at his band’s concert in New Jersey on Wednesday, August 21. As the teenager joined his father, Rossdale had the crowd sing “Happy Birthday” to him in honor of his 16th birthday.

Center stage, a cake was rolled out to Rossdale, as well as golden “16” balloons for Zuma, who sweetly hugged his father at the end of his birthday song.

Zuma later joined in and played guitar alongside Rossdale as his band played their hit “Comedown”.

“It was so amazing to celebrate Zuma’s 16th birthday with 18,000 people screaming happy birthday,” the proud dad told PEOPLE. “The Jersey fans couldn’t have made this night more special for me and my family. Thank you.”

Rossdale shares his three sons – Zuma, Kingston, 18, and Apollo, 10 – with ex Gwen Stefani. He is also father to daughter Daisy, 35.

On Father’s Day this year, Rossdale took to his Instagram to share a few photos with all four of his children as he celebrated the summer holidays. Posing with his three sons, Rossdale smiled as they stood poolside.

He also shared a photo with his daughter Daisy smiling next to an ivy wall. “Happy Father’s Day to me and all fathers who love their children and do their best,” the musician wrote in the description.

“I’m really lucky to have these amazing people to call my own. It’s been a wild ride where love, support and patience wins the whole way. 🖤.”

Zuma is not the only one who inherited his parents’ musical talent! Last November, Rossdale spoke to PEOPLE on set Conversation‘s Halloween episode and shared that his son Apollo also accompanies his parents.

“Apollo sang me a song for his show last night,” Rossdale began, “and it’s really upsetting because I based my tour on his [flag] football season.”

“He’s a quarterback. He’s really good. When we booked the tour, I said, ‘Well, I have to stay in LA until this date because I can’t miss it,'” Rossdale told PEOPLE. “I knew it would mess something up, but I was determined not to miss him.”

“I missed a game last season, the last game of the season, the playoffs. It was devastating. I had to watch it on FaceTime. I booked my tour and I knew he was going to give something.”

“He’s fucking taken the lead in his own game and I don’t come back until the ninth and he’s first. Anyway, he sang me a song last night and it was amazing from top to bottom and just beautiful pitch, melody, voice, tone , I knew all the words.”
