Gaynor Lord cops ‘have indications’ about why Norwich mum vanished as they probe chilling CCTV & last call

POLICE say they have “indications as to why” Gaynor Lord “acted the way she did”.

However, they say there is no indication that she suffered from mental health problems – but that she is being treated as “vulnerable”.

Officers gained access to her mobile phone and are searching it tonight for clues.

They also don’t believe Gaynor met anyone at Norwich Cathedral and don’t know if she is religious.

Chief Superintendent Dave Buckley said: “There is nothing to suggest that she was in the cathedral, that she had any contact with a third person.”

He continued: “Anyone who goes missing in these circumstances is vulnerable.

“In this particular case, we have a woman whose disappearance is out of character, now it’s been a long time since she’s been seen alive. That makes her vulnerable.”

Asked if there was anything going on in her private life that would explain her disappearance, Ch Supt Buckley said: “Not at the moment, no.”

He added: “There’s nothing that we’ve been able to establish that really gives us a clear view of her state of mind that I feel any degree of confidence in saying what we think she is at this point.

“I think we’re continuing to talk to friends, family, anybody that can help us that we know she’s been in contact with.”

He said Gaynor had not disappeared before, as far as he knew.

It comes as…

“We have some indications as to why she behaved the way she did, but what we’re doing is we’re just working backwards now to really understand what could have happened.

“I think we just have to be careful with everything we know at this point because obviously we’ve ended up in the situation we’re in, which isn’t normal, right.

“I don’t think any of the conversations we’ve had have fully informed us why her state of mind ended up being the way it was.”

The police have about 60 officers working on the case and have received 30 reports from citizens.

Yesterday officers shared the latest CCTV image of the mum in St Augustine’s Street at 4.01pm – meaning the second call was after the last sighting.

They posted a picture of Gaynor smiling from ear to ear as she left her workplace – Bullards Gin, at Jarrold’s department store.

Then the mom is seen running on the pavement with her coat in her hand on the CCTV footage.

She seems to be in a hurry, in a hurry to cross the road.

The mum appears to have spent 30 minutes in the cathedral before being spotted again on CCTV.

He then makes his way down the street, putting on his coat as he walks.

It was last recorded on CCTV at 16.01.

It is now thought that the mum may have met someone at the cathedral before she disappeared.

Police are also reportedly “liaising” with the force that worked on Nicole Bulley’s disappearance.
