General Hospital’s Haley Pullos Requests Car Crash Lawsuit Dismissal, Blames Other Driver’s Alleged ‘Negligence’

Haley Pullos has asked Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss a civil lawsuit related to her 2023 arrest.

On April 29 last year, General Hospital actress, 25, was involved in a car accident on the highway after an alleged hit-and-run that happened moments before the crash. At the time, PEOPLE reported that the actress was unable to exit her vehicle when law enforcement officers arrived on the scene. The Pasadena Fire Department later used the Jaws of Life to “extricate” her from the car before she was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.

She was charged with DUI after being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and allegedly driving the wrong way on a freeway.

The other driver involved, Courteney Wilder, was also hospitalized with serious injuries and later filed a lawsuit in January seeking damages.

In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the soap star denied “generally and specifically every single allegation” made in Wilder’s lawsuit, as well as Wilder’s claim that they “suffered or will suffer any loss or damage in the manner or amount alleged” by the Pullos. hands.

Instead, the filing argued that the “damage” alleged in the lawsuit was “substantially caused by either the plaintiff’s exclusive negligence and/or willful conduct.” Therefore, Pullos requested that the cost of Wilder’s recovery, “if any,” should be “reduced by an amount commensurate with the amount by which plaintiff’s negligent and/or intentional conduct contributed to the alleged damages.”

It also stated that Wilder’s damages were caused “in whole or in part, intentionally or negligently by persons, companies, corporations or entities” beyond its control.

Pullos asked the court to dismiss Wilder’s lawsuit and to pay her legal fees in addition to “other and further relief” deemed “just and appropriate.”

After the accident, Pullos reportedly entered a rehabilitation facility. The actress who played Molly Lansing-Davis General Hospital since 2009, told Soap opera summary in May that she was stepping down from the role after being involved in a car accident and needing “some time to recover.”

In a statement to PEOPLE, the LA district attorney said at the time that “drunk driving remains a serious problem in our communities, claiming thousands of innocent lives each year.”

The prosecutor added, “The charging of Haley Pullos with felony DUI causing injury underscores the seriousness of this alleged offense.”
