George and Amal Clooney had a sweet summer date in Italy.
On Friday, August 2, the couple were spotted on a boat with friends on the shores of Lake Como before heading to dinner at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo.
George, 63, wore a gray suit with a black shirt and tan shoes for the occasion, while Amal, 46, wore a cropped black one-shoulder top with a matching maxi skirt and gold heels.
She paired her elegant look with a pair of gold statement earrings.

Lake Como is a posh region in northern Italy that is popular with celebrities, with Travel and free time citing the Clooneys, Gianni Versace, Lionel Messi and Madonna as famous visitors. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were also seen on a romantic date in the area in May.
George is known for owning the lakefront mansion for more than two decades after buying it for roughly $10 million, according to The Washington Post. The actor later bought the property next door, making it “one of the largest private homes in the area,” according to the statement The Wall Street Journal.
As of 2022, the 25-room mansion is estimated to be worth more than $100 million. In 2023, he shot down rumors that they sold their Italian residence, telling PEOPLE through his rep that “it’s not true.”

Lake Como has a special meaning for the couple. George revealed in a 2017 interview The Hollywood Reporter that he first met his wife there in 2013. “I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart,” he said of his first impression.
The couple, who have two children, were seen on a date at the same luxury hotel last summer.
The five-star hotel has several dining options, including a wine bar, a classic bar, a seafood restaurant and a pizzeria. They also house the romantic Italian restaurant La Terrazza Gualtiero Marchesi, which offers saffron risotto made with gold.
