Despite confirming that he actually remembers him, George continues: “I’ll tell you who I am. I was here yesterday. You work on commission, don’t you?”
The employee corrects him and says he works for an “hourly wage”, but George won’t be deterred. He says: “Whatever. We just went shopping at every hardware boutique in town: The Wrench Connection, Screwy Vuitton and Le Tool.”

Richard Gere is ‘grateful’ for A beautiful woman But he admits that at first he ‘didn’t understand’: ‘I said, it’s not for me’
The moment recalls the response of Roberts’ character, Vivian Ward, after encountering the coolness of a store employee in the beloved rom-com, which also stars Richard Gere.
In the iconic scene, Vivian, who is a sex worker who falls in love with Gere’s Edward Lewis, asks an employee who despises her, “Hello! Do you remember me?”
When he claims he doesn’t remember the woman, Vivian – carrying shopping bags on both hands – replies: “I was here yesterday. You wouldn’t wait for me. You work on commission, right? Big mistake. Big. Huge.”
