Mrinal Pande is an Indian journalist, television personality and author. In 2006, Pande was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of journalism and Hindi literature. She served as the editor-in-chief of the Hindi newspaper Hindustan until 2009.

Mrinal Pande was born on Tuesday, 26 February 1946 in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh (age 77; as of 2023). Her zodiac sign is Pisces. She attended a government school in Nainital. In the 1960s, she studied for a master’s degree at Allahabad University in Uttar Pradesh. When Mrinal studied in school, she excelled in subjects like English and Sanskrit literature. She studied ancient Indian history, archeology, classical music and visual arts at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in George Washington State, USA. When she was studying in college, she discovered that she was an excellent debater. She also discovered her many hidden talents, such as singing and dancing. Parents and siblings
Mrinal’s father, Shuk Deo Pant, is a chemistry teacher in a government school in Uttar Pradesh. Due to work commitments, his family traveled to many places, including ashram huts in Allahabad and Nainital, before settling in Lucknow. He died young.
Munnar’s mother Gaura Shivani Pant (pen name Shivani) was a 20th century Hindi writer and a pioneer in writing Indian women’s novels. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 1982. She died on March 21, 2003, at the age of 79.
Munnar has two younger sisters, Veena Joshi and Ira Pande. Mrinal also has a younger brother named Muktesh Pant, who was born in 1954. Mrinal has an older stepsister nqmed Beenu.

Mrinal Pande married Arvind Pande. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in the UK with a major in economics. In 1965, he became an IAS officer. Twenty-one years later, he joined public sector steel company SAIL; however, he resigned as chairman in 2002.
The couple has two daughters; one is an oncologist and the other is Rohini Pande, a professor of public policy at Harvard University in the United States.

Mrinal Pande follows Hinduism. On December 8, 2018, she spoke about her faith on Twitter, saying:
I am a Hindu who studies and practices my faith, but I am a liberal who opposes violence and hypocrisy in the name of any religion. I firmly believe there are many believers like me. They may not be as outspoken or dramatic as they mostly express themselves in Indian languages. ”

She served as editor of Vama, a Hindi publication of the Times of India Group, from 1984-87 and Saptahik Hindustan, a Hindi weekly of the Hindustan Times Group (1988-92). She left Saptahik Hindustan on August 31, 2009.

She also hosted a weekly interview show “Baaton Baaton Mein” on Lok Sabha TV under the Congress government. In 1996, she started hosting shows on Star News and Doordarshan. At this time, she was also senior editorial advisor for the channel’s news and current affairs programming (1999-2001).

At the age of 21, Mrinal published her first story in the Hindi weekly Dharmyug. Later, she began writing short stories, plays, novels, and essays. She is the author of several books, including The Subject Is Woman (1991), Daughters of Daughters (1993), What is Ordained by Ramhas (1994), Devi: Stories of the Goddess of Our Time ( 1996) and My Own Witness (2000).

- Mrinal has often taken anti-BJP stances, like when Narendra Modi visited Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh in 2019 when Pande mocked him for wearing Traditional headgear of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She posted a picture of a rooster on Twitter and wrote “Do it again!!” and was heavily criticized by netizens for making fun of the tiara.
