Get a First Look at HGTV’s Dream Home 2024 in Florida — Plus, How to Win It (Exclusive)

HGTV’s Dream Home of 2024 is here — and it’s in a beautiful Florida location!

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the network’s 28th home, located on Anastasia Island in the Sunshine State. Interior designer Brian Patrick Flynn reimagined the spectacular space and reveals all of his design secrets behind this newly built abode in the video above.

Spread over 3,300 square feet, the three-bedroom, four-bathroom home overlooks the Matanzas River and the St. Augustine. It is located in a swamp overlooking mangroves and Florida wildlife. The island itself stretches for 14 miles and is connected by a bridge to St. Augustin — a historic town with stone streets and dreamy beaches.

“I took inspiration from beach houses around the world to give this house a unique, laid-back Florida look,” Flynn says of the home’s design during a tour of the space.

“I wanted to make the home feel like its own airy paradise with soothing colors and enough natural light that the winner would dream of coming home to,” he adds.

The star of the great room is a one-of-a-kind fireplace made from coquina—a type of stone composed of “ground shells found on the beaches here in the St. Augustine area, along with oyster shells,” the designer explains. The upper mantle contrasts the rough texture of the fireplace with the smooth finish of the driftwood.

The room also offers easy indoor/outdoor living as it opens directly onto an elevated, screened-in veranda via large sliding glass doors, making the room feel “double the size,” he says. The expansive deck offers multiple seating and dining areas for entertaining guests.

The dining room “looks a little more like a beach hut” because of the white table and textured chairs and light fixtures, Flynn explains. Meanwhile, the eat-in kitchen offers vaulted ceilings fitted with three skylights and shades designed to block the intense summer sun.

A basket of what he calls “Florida coral” is featured in the pantry across from the kitchen, which includes marble countertops and plenty of storage.

For the master bedroom, Flynn adds, “everywhere you look you see just texture that feels coastal, like the beautiful light fixture above that’s woven into the seagrass look.” The design expert says the projector can be used to watch TV, but also looks like “one giant piece of abstract art” when turned off.

The space is also equipped with a walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom with a steam shower, bathtub and skylights.

Upstairs there are additional bedrooms, a bathroom and a “loft lounge” with a wet bar and a beautiful view. “This is the longest view of the house where you can see out into the mangroves,” notes Flynn.
