Gijs van der Most is an American photographer and businessman. He is the husband of popular stand-up comedian and actress Michelle Buteau.

Gijs van der Most was born in 1979 (44 years old as of 2023) and comes from the Netherlands, Europe. From 2000 to 2005, he studied photography and design at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht (Utrecht School of the Arts), a performing and visual arts education institution in Utrecht, the Netherlands. After working in Amsterdam, Netherlands for many years, he moved to New York, USA. After marrying, he began living on City Island in the Bronx.

His documentary projects include “Used Car Salesman,” “Yard Sales,” “Sign Juggler” and “I♥ Runyon Canyon.” Gijs, who co-founded the blog “van der THIS!” with his comedian wife Michelle Buteau, blends photography with comedy, turning the content into a compelling and entertaining miniseries. He also serves as photo editor for the popular style, culture and design blog www.kaufmann-mercantile.com. In 2012, he appeared on The Eric Andre Show. In January 2012, Gijs van der Most and Michelle opened a furniture store called Van Der Most Modern in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
