Kelly Kay is celebrating a special milestone in her baby boy’s life.
The girlfriend of late college football player Spencer Webb’s boyfriend celebrated their son Spider with a fun party on his first birthday — which falls on Easter weekend.
Kay shared highlights from the celebration on her Instagram Story on Saturday.

Fittingly, the little boy’s party had a spider theme, complete with black and white decorations, spider and web icing sugar cookies, and even a large mesh screen printed with photos of Spider’s first year.

One picture posted by Kay shows a toddler and another young partygoer having fun with a ball. And judging by another photo she shared, the birthday boy needed to take a nap in the middle of the celebration to recharge his batteries. “A nap in the middle of the party,” his mom captioned a photo of her lying next to Spider while he sleeps with a blanket and a pacifier.

Kay also reshared a friend’s post featuring a collage of Spider photos and wrote: “My little spidey man is already 1 year old.”

Kelly Kay admits being pregnant with late soccer star’s baby was ‘second worst thing that ever happened’
Just a week before Kay learned the news of her pregnancy, Webb died at the age of 22 in a rock fall accident. Kay was at the scene of the crash, telling PEOPLE in April that her boyfriend “passed away in my arms.”
During her pregnancy, Kay says she was already calling her child “Baby Spider.”
“I talked to his best friends about it and I didn’t want to call him Spencer Jr. because I believe Spencer is Spencer and that’s his name and I don’t want to take that away from him,” she explains. “I think it would be too hard for me to call him Spencer, too. So I thought, let’s call him Spider. It’s a bad name. That was his father’s nickname. It’s still to his credit.”

She also said she plans to continue to keep Webb’s memory alive as long as possible.
“We have pictures all over the house. We have so many memories. And as he grows up, he’ll always grow up knowing who his dad is.”
“I’m hoping to send him to Oregon and I know he’s going to be D1. He’s already non-stop,” Kay said with a laugh. “We are both very athletically built people. [I hope to] send him to football and follow in Spencer’s footsteps as much as I can.”
“Although his son and I are starting this new life with some trials and tribulations, we will make sure we live through Spencer’s strength and leadership to make him proud.”
