The GOOD Morning Britain news reader revealed today for the first time that she is in fact a single mother since seven months pregnant.
Until now, Ranvir Singh was thought to have split from her husband Ranjeet Singh Dehal – with whom she has son Tushaan, 12 – shortly before she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing 2020.

Partnered with Giovanni Pernice, she told GMB viewers at the time she would be appearing on the BBC’s Saturday night ‘single’ show.
But today in a shock admission, Ranvir, 47, tells Kate Thornton on the White Wine Question Time podcast that she has been single since she was seven months pregnant.
She tells Kate: “I’ve actually been a single mother since I was seven months pregnant. I kept it quiet, but now I can talk about it.
“Now I’m at a point in my life where I think I’m learning to accept my whole life and not divide it so much into parts, keep everything separate.
“I’m happy to put it right today. Obviously my friends and family knew. It shows that you can keep whatever privacy you want!”
Explaining why she only admitted it publicly today, Ranvir says: “I feel like I’m starting to put my life back together and part of it is being able to say, ‘Yes, I’ve been single since I was seven months pregnant’. I have to own it. I have to say: ‘It’s not a shame, it’s not something to hide, it’s me’. “
Ranvir, who has been dating TV producer Louis Church, 28, for four years after meeting him on Strictly, admitted at the time that she was incredibly proud of the beautiful person her son Tushaan is turning into.
She says, “When I see my son growing up and growing into the young man I feared I couldn’t achieve on my own – my heart just breaks. I feel a huge sense of accomplishment.”
But she openly admits that juggling her busy TV career with motherhood has been difficult.
Ranvir tells Kate, “I understand that you’re rushing forward so hard in the single-minded f***ing desire to make this work and move on…

“But I literally say I’m on a unicycle blindfolded and juggling fire, that’s how I feel this whole time!”
Also in the hour-long podcast, available today on all streaming platforms, the GMB star finally breaks her silence about her time on Strictly following the BBC’s decision to accept complaints against her dance partner Giovanni.
An investigation into the professional was launched after Amanda Abbington made a series of allegations of abuse against him.
During the BBC’s investigation, reports suggested that Ranvir had met Amanda and other celebrities, who were Giovanni’s partners, to discuss their time on the show with him.
In today’s podcast, Ranvir remains tight-lipped about what it was really like to be partnered with Giovanni, but talks about the positive effect being on Strictly post-Covid 2020 has had on her career – and why he signed up in the first place.
Ranvir tells Kate, “You think, ‘They offered it, what if they don’t ask me again?’ This is a big moment in your career. I always say turbo charges one’s profile.
“People see you in a completely different audience that might never tune into ITV breakfast, or there are dedicated loyal BBC viewers and the TV never moves away from the BBC.
“And I understand why. I’m kind of quite brutal about it – if I wanted to learn to dance I could go and pay for lessons… I don’t need a career in the West End. There are lots of people who go there for lots of reasons…
“After that you can get a role in the West End. Look at Ore Odube, he did amazing. It completely changes people’s perception in the minds of clients and producers and the audience, which is obviously the most important.
“It was the first big live concert of the year and people were desperate for something [after Covid].
“I was strictly there, this beautiful great thing and 11 million viewers on a Saturday night.
I said to my son at the time, ‘This is going to take me and it’s going to be really, really hard for us, like it’s going to be really hard, but it’s going to do for me in 12 weeks what I’d have to spend five years doing’ – a donkey’s job, leg work, trying to go and hold meetings, trying to see people, trying to get a bigger audience to meet you amazing.
“Maybe you’ve never heard of Chris Ramsey or Chris McCausland, but I’ll tell you something, now you know exactly who they are and you can’t wait to buy tickets for your aunt or sister. It changes everyone’s perception.”
Ranvir has worked on GMB since the program launched in 2014 and has formed close friendships with presenters Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway. About their friendships, she says in the podcast: “I work with really strong women.
“I work with Kate Garraway, I work with Susanna, they’re legends in their own right, who I’m so lucky to work around and feed off of their energy. I think we give each other a boost and a lot of support… in the breaks, during the competition , we share.
“Those little bits change the way you feel that day. It can give you a spring in your step … those work friendships, that support from other women at work are absolutely integral to my well-being at ITV.”
And during the conversation, she reveals that her mom had a heart attack in front of her last year. Fortunately, she made a full recovery after emergency surgery.
Ranvir, whose father died when she was nine, reveals, “Mom had a cardiac arrest in front of me last year. We said goodbye. I was the only one there. We actually went to the ER, she had a heart attack during the day, like a heart attack that slowly goes away, and the paramedics took her to ER. I left at half past nine in the evening, and I was still with her.
“Then at 6.30 the next morning, we were up all night and suddenly, her condition started to deteriorate in ten minutes before my eyes. She went into the resuscitation room. The NHS are amazing when it’s urgent to save your life.
“Suddenly she had a cardiac arrest, that was it. It got to the point where she was sitting and looking at me, there were all these people around me.
“I looked at her and thought, ‘Shit, that’s it. Shit, she’s dying. She was still conscious, but she was looking at me. I went up to her, put my hand on her forehead and said: ‘I love you, I really love you’.
“Two hours later they put a stent in her and she was upstairs in the ward, in three days she was home!”
