Kate Garraway caused a bit of chaos on the set of Good Morning Britain on Thursday after her cell phone went off during the show.
The journalist’s colleagues, Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, presenters, are interviewing former Extinction Rebellion spokesperson Rupert Read about whether climate protests are counterproductive. Kate’s cell phone started ringing.
Susanna was the first to notice the sound coming from Kate’s side of the table, commenting, “Looks like we have background music.”

The cameras quickly turned to Kate, who was trying to mute her phone. Turning away from the table, she said, “I’m so sorry,” before exclaiming, “And that’s silence!”
In the show’s sequel, the presenters discussed a humorous glitch. Turning to Kate, Ben said, “By the way, we’re still talking about door phones, can we coordinate the technology?”

Susanna interjected, “This morning we talked about whether you allow your partner access to your phone,” before suggesting to change the settings on Kate’s cell phone.
The show’s producers then began playing the sound of the phone ringing in the studio, prompting Kate to accuse the crew of taunting her.
“Light up! Light up!” – cried the star.

Ben joked, “Gaslighting is when you don’t do something, but you did.”
Crossing her arms, Kate asked, “Should I leave?”
Viewers were quick to comment on the moment on Twitter, and many couldn’t help but notice the WHSmith coupons hidden on the back of Kate’s phone case.
One wrote: “Love that #KateGarraway has a WHSmith coupon tucked away on the back of her phone #GMB,” while another tweeted: “Can Susanna please [ask] Kate if we can use her WHSmith discount. It’s on the back of her phone,” added a smiling emoji.
The televised incident comes at an exciting time for Kate, who recently received an MBE in recognition of her contributions to broadcasting, journalism and philanthropy.

The TV presenter met Prince William at Windsor Castle in June and was joined by her husband, Derek Draper, who was beaming with pride as his wife accepted the honor.
Speaking to ITV, Kate said: “It’s a great thing because I definitely don’t feel like I deserve it, but it’s something very special.”

“The whole event was very special, the Prince of Wales running it was fantastic. You meet amazing people, you hear stories from them. It’s great for my parents and Derek to be here with us. I didn’t think it would, but you feel very emotional – in a good way.”
