Kathy clears the air
Kathy was ready to let bygones be bygones after she fell out with Theresa for talking too much about her relationship with Gerry.
“Right now we’re all dating one man and people who know me know I’m a straight shooter,” she said. “And looking back on the series, could I have been a little more delicate? Absolutely, I could. Maybe we both should have buttoned it up, but really, that’s in the past.”
“It was in a moment and it’s over and I think Theresa knows that too. I really wish everyone the best,” added the retired education consultant, 70. “I think this show is, yes, about love — but it’s also so much about hope and friendship and what life has to offer to all of us, and that’s what I feel.”

“To all women on The Golden Bachelor,“, she shared. “This has been the most amazing season I’ve seen in all these years — literally since Trista and Ryan [Sutter] — so thank you for giving us so much joy, so much satisfaction, you were such an inspiration to me and my family.”

Joan explains her early departure
Joan made the decision to leave The Golden Bachelor to help her daughter – who recently gave birth to a baby – after building a strong bond with Gerry.
“I look at the journey I left, it was abrupt and I feel like I had unfinished business and I didn’t see all that Gerry stuff at the end and him crying and I feel really bad that I was that to him,” explained Joan, 60. .
When asked if it would have worked out with Gerry if she hadn’t left, the Maryland native admitted, “I think we had a good chance. Gerry helped me feel visible because he looked at me, he cared and wanted to know me.”

“Gerry opened my heart and gave me hope for a little while, honestly, and I thought a few times that maybe I’d come around the corner coming home from work and he’d be sitting on my porch,” she added.
She later wished Gerry all the best on his journey to finding love, saying: “I think it will always be in the back of my mind what would have happened, but I see you’ve connected with some people and I wish you the best and I want to say that I wanted to find someone who longs for it now. It was such a good feeling and I’m working hard to find it. I do not quit.”
Ellen is open about her shocking departure
After expressing her feelings for Gerry earlier in the season, Ellen admitted that her departure was “probably one of the most emotional and difficult times of my life, where I was faced with real unhappiness and disappointment.”
“I just saw an amazing life with him,” she continued. “He was attentive and caring, loving and funny, the way he treated me. He really made me feel like a princess.”
She later thanked Gerry for giving her the “ability, confidence and self-esteem” to find love again, and he responded by calling her a “very special person”.
“I think you represent the opinion of all the women sitting with you, that through our journey and our experience we have become hopeful, we have become optimistic,” he continued. “We realized that at our age we are not invisible, that we have meaning and that we have a lot to offer. It was as if we were making history together. We have so much to be proud of.”

Ellen also shared the touching story of her friend Roberta, who died of cancer after she encouraged her to apply for the show. Unfortunately, the 60-year-old friends were never able to watch the series together.
“I came back from filming and everything, she was in a semi-coma, and I knew she was suffering… and I knew she was staying with me so we could [watch the show together]”, she said bursting into tears. “I finally told her, ‘I don’t want you to suffer anymore. I want you to go. It is OK. We will watch the series together from different places.’ And I’ve shared that with her daughter and my kids, and it’s been an amazing experience just to know that she’s looking out for me because I miss her. I miss him a lot.”
She then had a surprise reunion with Roberta’s daughter, who thanked Ellen for showing the world what “true friendship” meant.
Gerry sends the ringleader home
After breaking down during the rose ceremony, Gerry admitted to host Jesse Palmer that he was ready to hand out the final rose before Fantasy Suites, saying: “I know what I want to do. I just don’t want to do it.”
Finally, he gave the rose to Theresa and sent Faith, who received the Rose First Impression, home.
After being escorted out of the villa by Gerry following her elimination, Faith broke down in tears and admitted she felt “stiff”, adding: “It’s going to be a while before I figure it out, if I ever do. Maybe it was all just in my head. I really don’t know. I feel like we connected on a level where I was ready to marry a guy. I wanted a lot more for myself.”
Faith once broke down in tears when she went on stage Women say everything to discuss its elimination. She shared with others: “It’s painful. It’s hard because for the last, I don’t know, 20 years, I haven’t really opened up to love, so I was going into this, I really thought, ‘OK. If I feel anything, I’ll go all in.’ And that broke me.”
When Gerry joined her on stage, the pair shared an emotional hug and both shed tears as they held each other.

Faith finally spoke to Gerry, saying, “I think the first thing I want to say from day one is that I felt that we [had] that bond, that safe place. But when I looked up the day you saw me off, it was like looking at a stranger. So I felt this complete disconnection. That was the most devastating for me. We left our hometowns – the way we left each other was so great – and then there was just nothing.”
“It’s nothing,” he replied. “Believe me, I thought about that night and those moments when I told you I loved you and in those moments I did.” I truly loved you. I felt like I built and created something with you only to have it destroyed in a short moment.”

Faith went on to explain that she was ready to be Gerry’s wife and that she “didn’t care about the match [in their lives] or what wasn’t” before her elimination.
“I just didn’t care about any of that stuff anymore and maybe it was a bit selfish of me but I just left, for the first time in my life I feel safe. I just want to be here and be in this,” Faith admitted as she continued to cry.
“You weren’t being selfish,” Gerry assured her. “And my love for you was sincere in those moments and at some point when I had three women who are indescribably wonderful. I had to find out which one was the right one. That doesn’t mean the other two were less wonderful or less important or less dear. It just meant that one was right.”
He also said that what makes him feel “the worst” about their breakup is that he promised Faith’s family that he would protect her and ended up not. He added: “It’s so awful.”
“I don’t feel you cheated on me. I don’t feel like you intentionally broke my heart in any way,” she replied. “I don’t think my family feels that way either. I know your heart is sincere in all good ways. You are a beautiful soul and I feel so blessed to have known you.”
What’s next for Gerry
In a preview for next week’s episode, Gerry has some big questions to answer as he, Leslie and Theresa head to Costa Rica at the Fantasy Suites. He says, “I’m in love with two women, but which one would I be happiest with for the rest of my life?”
While people were wondering what the Fantasy Suites would look like The Golden Bachelorhe teases, “I really like the idea of pillow talk, but, yeah, people my age are still knocking with boots.”

The emotional impact of the proposal seems to be too much for Gerry as he says, “This isn’t worth all that.”
“I took a good person and broke her heart,” he adds brokenly. “The only time I’ve ever felt worse in my entire life was when my wife passed away, and this is god…right after that.”
