Keke Palmer Accuses Ex Darius Jackson of Domestic Violence, Files for Restraining Order and Custody of Son

Keke Palmer is seeking sole custody of her 8-month-old son Leodis, whom she shares with Darius Jackson, after alleging repeated physical abuse by the child’s father.

On Thursday, Not actress, 30, filed for a domestic violence restraining order in Los Angeles, according to documents reviewed by PEOPLE.

In a California Superior Court filing, Palmer alleges that on Sunday, “Darius entered my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically assaulted me — lunged at my neck, punched me, threw me over the couch and stole my phone when I told him I was going to call the police.”

She also includes screenshots of what appears to be security footage of a man punching a woman across the sofa. Palmer claims Jackson, 30, abused her repeatedly over a two-year period.

Another incident was allegedly captured on “home security footage [from] February 13, 2022, when Darius’ body slammed into the stairs by my neck.”

In the declaration, Palmer states that there were “many instances of physical violence, including hitting and grabbing around the neck, descriptions of Darius destroying my personal property including diaries and prescription glasses, throwing my belongings in the street, throwing my car keys, preventing me from driving away , hit myself in front of our son, curse at our son about me, threaten to kill himself with a gun if I leave him, harassment and other physical and emotional abuse.”

PEOPLE was unable to reach representatives for Palmer or Jackson for comment.

Palmer further stated that during the incident on Sunday, Jackson came to her home to take Leodis to a soccer game, but the 8-month-old was not home because he had gone to visit family with Palmer’s sister.

After a verbal altercation, Jackson allegedly “knocked me backwards off the couch, stole my phone from my hands, and then ran out of the house.”

Palmer claims that the entire incident was “recorded on my home security camera, which will be shown to the court at the time of the hearing.”

She said she followed him outside to get her phone and he “almost hit me with his car.”

Palmer’s filing states that around April 21, 2022, the former couple went out to eat at a restaurant in Santa Barbara when Jackson allegedly became upset after accusing Palmer of flirting with a woman, prompting the parents to return to the hotel early.

“Darius grabbed my prescription glasses, threw them on the ground and stomped on them. He then opened my bag, threw all my belongings on the pavement in the rain and threw my car keys across the parking lot before getting into his car and driving away,” the document said.

He states that he would also “like to bombard” her.

“The abuse during our relationship was not only physical, but emotional and manipulative,” the restraining order said. “Darius would ‘love bomb’ me and make me feel like I was the most important woman in the world, only to become extremely distant and cold at a perceived insult to him. If we were at a party or event and I was talking to a person looked at someone for too long or a “certain way”, he would storm off in a rage – calling me a ‘slut’ and a ‘whore’, accusing me of cheating on him and not loving him. Darius had a way of lighting me up to make me feel like I’m doing something wrong even though I’m not.”

Palmer and Jackson’s issues briefly came to light in July when Jackson called her out for wearing a skin-tight black bodysuit under a see-through dress to watch Usher perform at his Las Vegas residence.

“We live in a generation where a family man doesn’t want a wife and mother to his kids showing their bums to please others and being told what a hater he is,” Jackson he wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “This is my family and my representation. I have standards and morals for what I believe in. I am closing my case.”

Following the buzz on social media, Palmer released a song with the “OMG” singer called “Boyfriend.”

“Someone said your boy’s looking for me/Oh, that’s great,” Palmer sings on the single.
