Producers of the Golden Globes confirm that the moment between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson was completely unexpected.
On Sunday, January 5, Diesel, 57, took the stage at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards to present the award for Motion Picture and Cinematography Achievement. Diesel’s rant followed reports that he and Johnson did not get along, and rumors of an alleged feud began in 2016 after they ended The fate of the furious. At the time, it was rumored that they clashed more than once during the filming of the eighth part of the film franchise.
That August, Johnson posted a now-deleted Instagram in which he praised the film’s crew and his actresses, but called out some unnamed stars.
“There is no other franchise that makes my blood boil more than this one,” he wrote at the time. “My female colleagues are always amazing and I love them. My male colleagues are a different story. Some act like stand-up men and true professionals, while others are not.”
He added: “Those who aren’t are too chickens— to do anything about it. Sweets a—-. When you watch this movie next April and you don’t think I’m in one of these scenes and my blood is boiled — you’re right.”

However, Diesel denied the allegations and claimed that the two are “close”.
“I think some things may be exaggerated. I don’t think that was his intention,” he said of Johnson’s statement. “I know he appreciates how hard I work on this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne.”
Johnson briefly left the franchise in 2021. That October, he said to Vanity Fair that he agreed to appear only in 2017 The fate of the furious if he didn’t have to share any scenes with Diesel.
Two years later, Johnson announced his return, and the actors seemingly mended their relationship.

From the release of the 10th film, 2023 Fast X, Diesel and Johnson are expected to return for the upcoming film Fast X: Part 2. The film was originally slated for an April 2025 release, but has been pushed back to 2026, director Louis Leterrier told Collider.
