Gurpreet Singh Gora, popularly known as Gangster Gora, was an Indian historian associated with the Billa Gora group. He is the brother-in-law of Canadian gangster Goldie Brar. Gora was reportedly involved in plotting the murder of Punjabi singer-turned-politician Sidhu Moose Wala.

As a teenager, Gangla began committing petty crimes, such as shoplifting and theft. In the company of his friends, he soon became involved in robberies, hold-ups, hold-ups and other heinous crimes.
Arrested for highway robbery
In July 2020, Gora and his close aide German Jeet Singh were arrested by Bhogpur Jalandhar (rural) police for alleged crimes including arms smuggling and highway robbery. According to reports, the two were arrested after the police received a tip-off that they were planning to commit some heinous crime. The police recovered a bulletproof jacket and a .455 caliber pistol, two Glock 09 mm pistols loaded with four live bullets, a pump-action 12 bore rifle, a .32 caliber revolver and a . .30 caliber handgun loaded with live ammunition. The police also impounded the Verna car in which they were traveling. In a media conversation, Jalandhar Rural SSP Navjot Mahal said,
The police received a tip-off that Gurpreet Singh and his assistant German Jeet Singh were driving a Verna car to Behram and planned to Committing heinous crimes such as threatening vehicles on the highway with a gun. Meanwhile, special surveillance was quickly organized at checkpoints across the district and a special team of the Jalandhar Rural Police managed to nab the car attackers. “
A case was registered at Bhogpur police station against Gora under sections 392, 212, 216 A, 506 and 120-B of IPC and sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and further investigation in the case is on.
Accused of murdering Rana Sidhu
On October 22, 2020, a gangster named Ranjit Singh alias Rana Sidhu was shot dead by four armed men in Aulakh village on the Muktsar-Malout highway. Apparently, the murder was committed by Canadian gangster Goldy Brar, who took responsibility for the murder of Rana Sidhu through his Facebook account. After suspecting Gora’s involvement in the case, the Punjab Police took Gora from Faridkot jail to Maraut on an appearance order and produced him before the court. The court ordered Malut police to remand him in custody for two days.
Involved in Gurlal Singh Pehalwan murder case
Gurpreet Singh Gora is also accused of murdering Youth Congress district president and Zila Parishad member Gurlal Singh Pehalwan in Faridkot in February 2021. Gora was lodged in Hoshiarpur jail after some evidence against him surfaced. Imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was reportedly the main conspirator in Pehawan’s murder.
Other crimes
- On April 14, 2016, under Sections 364-A, 336, 395, 397, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act, 1878, against the Zira police of Ferozepur district Gora of Bureau.
- On July 4, 2019, an FIR was registered under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code against Gurpreet Singh Gora at the Batala police station in Gurdaspur district. Counterfeit currency notes worth Rs 100 were supplied. Pay Rs 50,000 to innocent members of the public in exchange for 10,000 (real Indian currency).
- On June 17, 2020, an FIR was filed against Gora under Sections 379, 411, 420, 473 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code at Arif Ke police station in Ferozepur district of Punjab for allegedly changing the registration number of the vehicle. Stolen cars and sell them on the market.
Apart from this, Gurpreet Singh is also facing about 14 other criminal charges related to murder, assault, robbery, fraud and gang warfare in various parts of Punjab. He was reportedly convicted of crimes in approximately 13 of these cases.
Sidumushwara murder case
On May 29, 2022, Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by some unidentified assailants in Mansa district of Punjab. He was shot dead a day after the Punjab government cut his security cover. Sidhu was traveling with his cousin and friends at the time of the attack, who were also injured. After Sidhu’s murder, Indian gangsters Goldy Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi and Sachin Bishnoi took responsibility for Sidhu’s murder through their respective Facebook accounts. When the Punjab police were interrogating Lawrence Bishnoi, the alleged murder mastermind, the name of Goldie’s brother-in-law Gora cropped up. Later, Gurpreet was brought to Mohali by Hoshiarpur police and handed over to the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force for interrogation. Later, Gora was taken to the Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) police station in Kharar, where the SIT questioned him about his links with Canadian gangster Goldy Brar and jailed Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Although officials did not reveal any information about Gora, some sources claimed that Gora and Neeraj were aware of the plan to eliminate Sidhu Musewala.
