This is the story of a gorilla mother. Gorillas usually live in Africa. They are quite large and very strong animals.
If humans treat gorillas well, they will be rewarded. Gorillas are known for their calm and very friendly personalities.
They like to spend time in trees or just lean on their hands. They are very active because they love to move, run and walk all day.
A colony of gorillas consists of one male, many females, and cubs. The male gorilla is the most important member because he decides where his family will go.
Female gorillas give birth every four years. They usually give birth to one child. Mother gorillas take care of their babies and carry them on their back, they can move on their own.
Mother gorillas take care of their cubs until they are five years old. They become independent at the age of 10.
